> But what if we don’t have a legit franchise QB on the roster? And what if Henne is nothing more that what he’s shown? And Thigpen is a nice athlete but not legit starting material? > What do we really have then? And how do we just “move on” from here? The Dolphins keep at the job at hand, trying to find a QB that is capable of leading the team to a SB win. You’ve acknowle

> The issue I have with this regime (besides the obvious blunder of not taking Ryan) is the lackadaisical way the have addressed the position via the draft. They've taken Henne and that’s it! Pat White was such a bad pick (for whatever position they projected him???) it doesn't even remotely matter. The Dolphins picked Pat White to play QB. Three drafts, two high picks on QBs. They’

Ken, no one is arguing with you. The question is Pennington/Henne, which one gives the Dolphins a better chance at winning?

John Elway???? Are you kidding? John Elway was one of the hottest prospects ever. There was never any serious doubt about his talent, there were rough patches in the beginning yes, but to equate Elway to Henne is silly.

Friend, your priorities are askew. The statistics you’ve given prove nothing. No one is looking for the next Dan Marino, don’t be ridiculous. But let’s make it really simple, knowing what you know, about all parties involved, would you start, ever, at any point, in any of their careers, Chad Henne over, Dan Fouts, or Terry Bradshaw, or Joe Flacco, or Brett Farve? The only one remot

Eh, look, the staff wanted Henne to do it, gave him as much time as they could have, but now, the playoffs are at stake. No more learning, no more seasoning, no more nothing. Do it, or else. The Dolphins are not going to jettison an entire season so someone can hopefully step up, not when they’ve got someone else sitting on the bench that might be able to get it done. All they really need is ju

> My point is we have passed on a bunch of QB prospects (starting with Matt Ryan) in the past 3 drafts and now we're FOCKED! Thanks a lot Ireland and Co. Yep, that’s your point, all the while seemingly forgetting that Ireland & Co. are in contention for a playoff spot right effin now. And have gotten the Dolphins to the playoffs once in two years, and the year they didn’t, they lost

> The really big issue here is the obvious one; it’s highly doubtful Henne is the solution at QB for the Miami Dolphins. And that means this regime has fundamentally failed – and for that they need to go bye-bye. That’s my vote right now. They haven’t fundamentally failed. Their record states otherwise. You have completely blown this issue out of proportion. Yes, they migh

Well, Pennington is a gentleman it seems. And He's worked very hard with Henne, and is STILL working with him. Henne may very well be the Dolphins starting QB someday.

Lol. Do you really believe that? Well, suffice it to say that a “P.R. stunt” would hardly ease any “heat building.”

The OL has to keep people off of him. And hopefully he doesn't have to run for first downs. Yikes.

Not like defenses were really worried about Miami going deep anyway. Who're the Dolphins gonna throw to. Henne doesn't throw deep. Miami has no deep threat. Maybe if Hartline improves.

Henne doesn’t challenge defenses. He might be able to do it some day, but how long can the Dolphins wait? They are 4-4. Pennington’s gotta get it done now. The FO should have had a QB ready to win the SB in place at the start of the season. That is the error. Of course, finding such a QB is a damn near impossible task to begin with.

Lol. Trade down and accumulate massive amounts of lower round picks. Dolphins boycott first two rounds, cite self preservation from tortured minds as cause.

You mean, you thought that the Dolphins would do all of that with better QB play? My guess is that the staff agrees with you, thus the QB change.

You give ‘em one more year? If so, the onus is still upon the FO to find a QB capable of leading the team to a SB win. If they find someone suitable in the near future, we may all be very happy having someone like Jake Long in the lineup.

or c) a lot depended upon the development of Chad Henne. When Henne didn’t happen, the Dolphins had to go with a limited arm strength, injury prone QB, that was otherwise better than Henne at the moment anyway.
