I think Wanny, Cam, Wilson, and Saban are all worse than Sparano.

Wanny teams were more consistent on the field. Wanny's downfall was as a GM, really. His teams got progressively worse because the "talent" we were drafting and signing was atrocious. I know we fell apart at the end of games under Wanny, but we also had some games where we pulled it out at the end as well. I haven't seen that from Sparano since his "boy" Henne has been at the helm.

Whats up with all the hate for George Wilson. He started the franchise and actually drafted Griese and Csonka. Back in the day, some thought he had turned the corner and had the Dolphins improving. It was also thought that he was kind of robbed when Shula took over. I definately wouldn't put him with Saban, Wanny, or Cameron. To me those are the bottom three.

I agree that Saban, Wanny and Cameron were the bottom three, but not nec. in that order.

George Wilson was before my time, but I know that he brought along with him to Miami a championship ring. He had won the title as coach of the Lions, and was also a player on the bears when they won a few titles, so he had credentials coming in.

however, he also had four losing seasons out of four, and his last one had only three wins. They had to let him go, and Shula was obviously an upgrade.

Yeah, I wrote them in no particular order. As for Wilson, I agree he did have the worst record, however this was an expansion team. Back then it was much more difficult to get the team going. See the Saints, Falcons and how long it took them to get a winning record (or the Bucs). The Panthers and Jags were very lucky when they formed. With that being said, I give Wilson a pass. smileys with beer

Yeah true about it being difficult to get the team going and Wilson does get some points for that, for sure.

But when you have a chance to upgrade, you gotta do it. Wilson himself benched his own son as QB in favor of Bob Griese, right?

Then Joe Robbie got Shula, after he'd recently made it to the Super Bowl with the Colts. They had a chance to get him so they took it.

My former boss at a job I had as a teenager in Miami was a huge George Wilson fan. It was well into the 1980s at that point and Wilson had been deceased for a while, yet my boss was lamenting that they ever got rid of George Wilson. Shula only earned two rings and an undefeated season, but this guy still liked Wilson better--lol. Just goes to show the impression he left.

I was curious to see if there was any update on Jake so I jumped to the end of the thread. I guess this went off on a major tangent. I hope he starts practicing a little this week and gets into next week's game to get some rust off, then rest him in the 4th game.

Now this is good news because he is the best offensive player on our team that does not play a skill position by far. He might be the one player that we can't do without if we want to have a good season this year. So welcome back Jake, and let's play some ball.smiling smiley

Hmmmmmmmmm, who was right and who was overreacting and being negative again? You be the judge, on who was on point and who wasn't.....lol
ALway be apprehensive when people will not put money behind their negative thoughts they are attempting to sell to you....
