Mark - great post. Hard to argue with facts.

Mark, I love the facts.

But let's not forget...yes, those guys had career years.

But when the game was on the line and we had the ball with a chance to win.....Henne screwed it up. We had a chance to win about 6 games last year and he threw game ending INT's.

That just the facts too.

How many 2-minute drills started with a draw play for little or no gain? That's not on Henne, and it's another example of how conservatively he was coached.

I can't remember if it was the Bills or Lions game. We got the ball back with one last shot, desperation time. And they sent out Marshall, Bess, Fasano, Ricky Williams, and Lou Polite. And we lined up with Henne under center, with the backs in an offset I. That's not on Henne, either. That personnel and playcall make no sense at all, and again, shows the ultra conservative nature of how Henne was coached.

One of the games with a game ending INT was the Jets game. That was the game where Sterling Sharpe, Solomon Wilcots, and Mike Mayock called Marshall on the carpet for his lack of effort once we got inside the 10. Marshall played a huge role in getting us into field position, but Henne looked for him for the TD, and on two plays he made no attempt to get open, and on a third play, he made no effort to jump for a fade route. On 4th down, Henne gave up on Marshall and forced it into Fasano, where it was intercepted.

Is there anyone who would deny that the playcalling changed dramatically once we got inside an opponent's 30? It was like clockwork. We'd get inside the 30, usually on a nice pass from Henne. Then, we go to the wildcat for two plays for 2-3 yards, and then Henne comes in for 3rd and long and we kick the FG. What does something like that do to a guy's confidence?

Did you know that Chad Henne only had 1 INT dropped last year? Did you know that no other QB had fewer than 4 dropped? The average was 6. Mark Sanchez had 15 dropped. If Henne had lucked into the average of 6 dropped INTs, his TD/INT ration would have been 15/14, which is a lot better than 15/19.

Football Outsiders ranked Henne as the 17th best QB in the league. Profootballfocus.com had him 18th in the league. Neither is good, but it's also not the disaster that he is made out to be. With a better supporting cast, a new system, and another year of growth, is it so hard to see him among the top 12 or so?

I don't know if Henne is the guy for us any more. But, I do know that he was only "part" of our offensive problems in 2010.

Again, he played average for 55 minutes of a game. But, the last drive...he turned the pistol towards his foot and pulled the trigger.

Jim B, I don't mean to be mean or anything, but that "road scholar" crack really hit me in the funny bone.

"Sorry. But that's the facts."...as you see them. I disagree.
