Do the QB's run first? Newton will take A LONG time to become as accurate as Brees, and Brady, I don't think a team wants to invest that much time, and effort making there offense tailor fit to Newton, maybe NE, just because they have the picks to get there future starter.

I agree the Patriots might go after him. They dont run first in the formation in the NFL, the run first would be more the NFL wildcat. The NFL spread at this point is pass first, flankers, bubble screens, etc

The Patriots and Saints have incorporated aspects of the spread, particularly the concepts of the pass route design, but they don't run a true spread offense. And in both cases, those teams are using QBs who very well versed in traditional offense and are excellent, quick decision makers.
