We had a big need at offensive tackle at the time that's why we took Long.

What good is a stud QB if he doesn't have the time to throw the ball? just ask Cutler how he is doing in Chicago, the most sacked QB in the league right now is he not? the more shots he takes the more chance he has at getting injured.

Oh and Parcells does not believe that a great quarterback is neccessary. He (and so does Sparano) thinks a caretaker guy is all that you need.

Henne has the tools but has not been allowed to play with them. The fact that he is not allowed to audible says volumes about how tightly he's reined in. The coaches don't want creativity...they want strickt adherence to the predetermined script!

Henning and company are entirely too conservative and thats our problem...they want to keep the game close and pull it out in the fourth quarter. But they refuse to run the ball, the defense isn't there, the blocking is average at best, team discipline is lacking (supposedly a Parcells strong point), and special teams are a disaster.

I will be rooting for Pennington to play well as I will be doing for the rest of the team...knowing all the while that conservative will get us the same results we have been getting and thats simply not good enough!

Monteque, your posts generally make sense , but I have to disagree with you on this one.

Marshall will absolutely LOVE having Penny in there at QB - Why:

Marshall is big and has a penchant for coming up with the ball in tight coverage.

Penny can deliver the ball where marshall has advantage and will fourish in the red zone.

We haven't really had a big advantage due to long ball success and Penny's accuracy will show up with both marshall and Bess receptions.

That is all just your opinion though. Nothing factual about it. I have posted facts, legitimate facts...OVER AND OVER, yet people get mad.

Chad Pennington hasnt won a game in 2 seasons, he was absoluely demolished by the Ravens in the first round of the playoffs and is not who he used to be.

Its over for him.

You just said you posted facts, not opinions yet you just stated its over for him?

So which is it you know for a FACT as you put it that "It is over for him" or is that a opinion?

you can see why that statement has us confused?

Apparently the Dolphin players are behind this move as they have the same amount of respect for Pennington as they do Henne!
I'm happy to hear that and unlike some posters I think Pennington will still be an effective QB for us.

Here's to a Dolphin win on Sunday!! Cheers all! smileys with beer
