I hope Sage wins the job. Tavaris can scramble and move and our front 7 is kinda slow and plodding. Jackson might give us fits with his feet. So I would rather face Rosenfels.
But both are lesser players than Farve so its a plus anyway you slice it
With the timing of this one, I believe it. If he was planning on playing he could of just not said anything and waited. Week 2 will still be tough, but fo sho easier.

Because nobody wants Pat White. And that team is on the verge of the Super Bowl. Thinking they might want a vet to lead that team instead of Tavaris Jackson.
Want to give us a 5th or 6th with conditions that could jump up to a 3rd, 2nd...etc. I would jump on it.
This is where Farve screwed Minny. You KNOW Philly didn't want to trade McNabb inside the division. But were forced to. If Minny was in the market for a QB they would have given up MORE than what Skins gave up to get McNabb. Minnesota went from a 12 win team to an 8 win team today. And a team that would be fighting for home field advantage to a team that is fighting for a wild card.
I liked GB in the NFC before today, now I really like them. GB and Dallas are the class of the NFC
I'd rather keep pennington than give him up for a 4th. and by the way I think the best we could get for him is a 5th or 6th given his injury history. The phins are in the hunt this year and pennington is more valuable to us as an emergency qb than a mid round draft pick for next season.
I hate to say it but all these ppl posting that they'll believe it when he's not on the field come end of TC are right. However, his injuries from last year have probably lingered and this could be it. That ankle can't be healed yet...
You have to keep Pennington for insurance. If Henne were to go down, we wouldn't miss a beat. Both guys give us a chance to go far. In addition, he is a valuable guy to have in the locker room.
he could just be saying this so when he inivitably comes back MAYBE people wont say he was jsut skipping TC. making us think that hes really ready to quit or something
IF Farve comes back after this, then I really question if he has all of his mental abilities. I mean this would be borderline insanity. Something must be seriously wrong with him.
And if Henne were to go down. If Henne goes down our season is over. Our offense with Marshall now is built to run the ball and throw it deep and spread the field. If we don't have that QB to do that (And Pennington isn't that type of Q we are toast.
I like Thigpen and think he could be great with a little more time to refine his skills. That said, If Henne goes down, I want Pennington on the field this year. It would take a lot in my opinion for anyone to acquire Penny in a trade. That is a big drop off from Penny to Thigpen as far as playing safe football. Thigpen might be better suited for bigger plays but he also still has some accuracy and int. problems.

I couldn't disagree with you more. The addition of the Beast doesn't mean that when we throw the ball we will constantly be chucking it deep. In fact, Marshall isn't reknowned for being a deep ball receiver. His style actually complements Pennington's game. The only question I would have about Pennington is how will his shoulder hold up?
With Marshall ANY qb will be solid, see Cutler, and Orton.
I would trade Pennington for a 3rd or better, but Favre isnt retiring, he just said that if he is healed then he is playing, plus Minn is offering more money to play.
There was no official word from Favre to announce retirement, only "sources" reported a claim.
He is not retiring, and will be there prob game 1 or 2. I bet its before the 2nd game which is cool for us, because the chemistry won't be as solid, even if he miss's training camp with Jackson at QB they are running a differant offense, so with or without him we will win week 2.
