And I didnt "proclaim" that Best wasnt going in the first round because of certain mock drafts. I could honestly give two-$hat$ about those things. I listen to the real deal experts.....Mike Mayock. He is the best by far.
Dont bash on me because I stick with the most repsected guy in the bus, phinsfan. Send your complaints to him.

Well, Reggie Torbor was a FA that was projected to start, but that never worked out. I'm not really sold on FA ILBs. The good ones won't be available. In fact, the same applies to NTs. The good ones won't be FAs.

I agree! Imagine this:
1. McClain
2. Spikes
3. Rolle
Plug those guys into a defense with Davis, Smith, Wake, Langford, and Merling and you have a solid core of young players to build a defense for years! Add in the vets of Starks, JT, and Will Allen, and we could have a really good D next year.

Are you really gonna compare Torbor to DeMeco Ryans and Karlos Dansby? Reggie was a backup who never cracked the starting lineup unless there was an inury so PROJECTED is right. He never played in more than 9 games in a season which he did once. The two I mentioned are PROVEN Pro Bowlers. Again...its all speculation that it could even happen but I'd say ILB's successful transition is a safer bet than WR or QB.

If that was the case Jonathon Vilma would still be in NY....and do u really think many players would turn down more money if their team is low balling them like the Cards always do? and being available isn't a problem if u get traded.

Nobody thought the Pats would deal Richard Seymour either....or Ty Law or Lawyer Milloy or Asante Samuel. We got Fergy for a lousy 6th rounder. Shaun Rogers is another.
The Pats drafted Ron Brace in the 2nd round last year. Why do u think they did that if they hadn't thought about letting Wilfork walk? They could even take another one this year with one of their two 2nd round picks....or first rounder. They don't like to pay big money unless its to Tom Brady.

That's a trade, not Free Agency (which is what you mentioned earlier).

You don't think the Pats will at least try a trade with Wilfork? Why just cut him?
From what I have been reading, Rolle is projected to be a SS so he may not really be an option. We already have too many of those.
How about this scenario....
Dez White and Rolando McClain are both gone by 12.
One of the top two QB's drop to us at 12 b/c Seattle and Pete Carrol make a trade for Matt Leinart (3rd rounder) and Arizona trades Anquan Boldin and their #26 and #58 pick for Miami's #12 and Joey Porter.
Michael Vick goes to Buffalo and AZ gets Bradford or Clausen since Warner retired.
All of the top tier talent may be gone by 12 and we get to drop down and get some value.
#26 Earl Thomas
#43 Brandon Graham
#58 Daryl Washington

I wonder if the FO is looking at Ryan Picket. He did a good job for GB last year in his first year as a 3-4 NT. He is 6'2 340lbs and 30 years old. He's 2 yrs younger than Hampton and will come cheaper without the baggage. We could then add a NT in the later rounds to develop.
There are absolutely no OLB's or ILB's worth signing as FA's this year so we will have to add them thru the draft.
So maybe we take a run at Pickett who is from Zephyrhills FL (about 30 miles from me) and Antonio Bryant.
Then we can go after one of these guys in the first round...taking the top ranked available.
Round 1
Player (ranking by Scouts Inc)
Eric Berry 3
Jason Pierre-Paul 5
Dez White 10
Rolando Mclain 12
Earl Thomas 15
