I think its good news to be honest. Let us see what we have in Henne and if hes not the man to take us into the future we continue to lose and go for the top qb in the off season. Time to move on
I feel bad for him and he was great for us last year, but I agree this is the best thing for a team going nowhere that desperately needs to know whether Henne is the answer
now we need to sign a vet off the scrap heap b/c white is not capable of being the #2. Maybe Garcia when the eagles cut him. Anyone else out there? Steve DeBerg?
I hope your all happy. I prey Henny is the man, but he wont be, why? He just doesnt show the mental toughness. Time will tell, but i just cant shake that feeling.
The future begins now. This season can be written off. Our coaching staff should start thinking about what we should do for the rest of this year in order to make us better next year. It isn't about putting our best foot forward now as much as it is about taking baby steps so we can run at some point down the road.
This means we should try to trade any one we can that is a short-term answer to a team that might benefit and win now like we did with Chambers a couple of years back.
If Porter heals up, he could help someone down the stretch. Maybe San Fran would accept a package deal with Ginn in it for the rights to Crabtree. Starks could help someone. Will Allen? Ronnie Brown? I would love to get rid of Crowder. Could the Bears use him now? Any other ideas?
the best thing a QB can have is the ability to read the defense before the play starts. I watched an interview with Marino and the one thing he pointed out was just that ability. He along with Peyton, can read the defense as they are setting up and that is what he needs, but that is just born in a player to recognize and adjust on the fly. That trait is what makes some players the best, cause it is just plain football skill or gift. To be able to adjust and react faster then the other guy.

This shows that you have not followed Henne's career. As a Michigan fan, I have. There is no one tougher. This is a guy who played through a separated shoulder at Michigan during his senior year. He would get the shoulder knocked out of place, have to leave the field to have it popped back in, and he'd come back out to lead a game winning drive despite not being able to throw the ball the way he was used to. It was one of the most impressive displays of toughness I've ever seen. He was a great leader for the Wolverines.

Exactly. I raced professionally back in the day and could "read" what others were going to do before they did it...and it is instinctive....many dont possess certain talents...you either are born to do that or your not

You must have missed the rest of the game on Sunday. There was one play where he scrambled, avoided getting sacked, and threw a strong ball across the field. It was a little long for the receiver, but I could see him completing that. Penny couldn't make that throw.
