Pennington didn't play well... true enough... but, he didn't have a whole lot of time to throw. Offensive line is making too much money to play like that. If I'm pointing fingers, I'm pointing them at our o line.
Apparently you weren't watching the game in which Chad Pennington had to pick himself up off the turf after every pass play -- with Jake Long looking around like a confused idiot trying to figure out who he failed to block on that particular play.

Boy, we have some real Pennington lovers on this board.
The man is a substandard quarterback.
I really did not see the ferocious rush that you saw and we must have been seeing different games.
On the play with that fumble, I saw him have adequate time and maybe he had no one to throw to but fumbling in that situation was inexcusable.
On numerous other plays, even when he passed, his passes were substandard.
Even when he completed the passes, he was so off-body-target that what should have been a simple catch became a difficult one depriving the receiver of an adequate opportunity for yards after catch.
Hopefully, the coaching staff will see what I see and after Henne replaces him, you too will see the difference.
Cryn B shut your mouth about Pennington, the man did a decent job. Fasano dropped two key fumbles, and yes he didnt look his best, but kinda hard to shine, when you got guys all in your grill. Seriously stop bitching, they ot played us plain and simple, now grow up and accept that. Maybe this loss, will give us some spark to turn it around.
Thunder if you call that a decent job, your standards are too low.
Replay the game on a tape.
Count thousand-one, thousand-two, thousand-three and write down the results for the amount of time from the snap that Pennington had on passing plays and compare it with the time that Matt Ryan had.
You will see that Ryan had less time and got more accomplished.
Yeah, it hurt that Fasano fumbled. But it also hurt when Pennington fumbled or did you forget that.
I would say that our offense gave them the game.
Actually, this is a replay of what happened to my Boilermakers last night when they lost to Oregon 38-36 and gave up two touchdowns on Offense.
But there the fault not was with Elliot (Q.
Here, Ricky and Ronnie played fine. The Wildcat was a waste of time but the failure to move the ball through the air when we should have been able to was mainly on Pennington.
Our offense was out of rythem, and our o-line stank, if we do well next week against the Colts, then what will you say? Yes Pennington didnt play great, but he did a decent job. Henne we all seen in Pre season stand alot longer in the pocket, would have had a much uglier game.
Oline lost this game and Fasano helped. Our D played really well considering we were facing an Atlanta team that was really stacked on offense. My one bright spot is Smith. That kid looks good. Hopefully he continues to play well
When Pennington plays against the Colts, we will not "do well" or even as "well" as we did today because their offense will play a lot better against our defense than did the Falcon offense. But, of course, you Pennington lovers will blame that loss on our defense.
What game was this guy watching? Their d-line was all over Pennington, and on the very few occasions when he got a little bit of time, the receivers didn't get open. He would have had to force the throw, and the one time he did that, Fasano had run his route too deep and the linebacker jumped on it and got the pick. Fasano had a terrible day, as did Jake Long. He does seem to have problems with speed rushers, but Abraham was also able to bull rush him and just run over him at one point. What's up with that? On a better note, "least improved player in training camp" Philip Merling had a superb game. "Most improved player in training camp" Kendall Langford, somewhat less so. Also, Vontae Davis is a hitter. Sean Smith isn't.
Im going to rub it in your face, when your proven wrong, and when i do, please dont say another word, why dont you go be our qb? Think you can do better than Pennington you suit up, and go win us a game.

RESPONSE: Like I said in another post. Replay the game with a stop-watch from snap from the center to release of the ball.
You'll find that Ryan had far less time than Pennington.
LET ME MAKE A BIG EXCEPTION. In the last 5 minutes of the game, it became clear that if the Dolphins were to win, it would have to be by the pass. The Falcons then pinned their ears back and Pennington had to throw a lot of passes away to avoid sacks.
But go back and time the first three quarters and the beginning of the fourth with a stop watch. You'll be surprised at your Mr. Pennington.
Well guess what your stuck with him. So get over it already, we are all pissed off about the loss, but what you going to do, they played and lost it happens. 8 other teams, have and wil lose this week, including teams, who where favored to win, its week one, we got a long year ahead.

YUP Money is what this league is about. I say lets be like baseball and not have a cap and see what the money in miami can atract....watch this team go to the bowl year after year as players would prefer living in South Florida than somewhere cold like Chicago or NE.

Uhh...No. The NBA has a better system. Players need to EARN their money. Only thing I don't like about the NBA is when a player gets traded, bought out, then goes back to the team that traded him. Baseball is ridiculous, which is why the Yankees dominated for so many years. If they get rid of the salary cap Green Bay, Jacksonville, and any other team in a smaller city might as well quit and drop out of the NFL.
Anyway, our owner is broke. Even without a salary cap he won't be bringing in a bunch of high-priced vets.

RESPONSE: Oh give me a break, Reppa. Now disagreeing with Pennington makes you NOT A DOLPHIN FAN!
Forget rooting for them since September of 1967.
YOUR Pennington and MY Henne refers to my choice for Miami Quarterbacks among us fans, not for my choice of teams.
