You should of had an option for....A tie between JT and Porter.

I think they are both going to break havoc on offenses.

JT won't play every down. I think Porter will be on the field more often, so I voted for him.

I have a few thoughts on that....

1. The FO said that JT won't be a starter but they were also in the process of contract negotiations. He may not start but when he gets on the field and shows he is still the best player, he is gonna play...and a lot.

2. JP had a career year but is still not the athlete that JT is. JT was always pretty good against the run and was never a liability. JP struggles when the linemen get their hands on him.

3. Trace Armstrong never started a game in 2000 but still led the team with 16.5 sacks. (JT 14.5)

I do think you guys are right though...they will be a terror together in this system. They did not do well a few years ago but Joey was put in a position that exposed his weakness...the running game.

I think we will be creative in how we use them and move them around a lot. If you look at how the players on defense fill out the team, they are very interchangeable. GIbril Wilson & Yeremiah Bell, JP & JT, etc. This will give OC's fits this year because they can't key on one player to tell what formation they are running.

JT is still JT until proven otherwise.

Yeah, particularly Crowder. I don't get that one.

Last time they were together i remembered because they put that game on th NFL Network....It was the game against the bears where the bears were undefeated at that time......It was at the bears and JT had a monster game....Sack for a fumble, int returned for a td.....It was on the saban era......We beat the bears for their first loss of the season......

It probably is too much to ask out of JT to have a game like that many more times.......But i still believe Jt has some gas left in the tank.

With JT, Porter, and our DBs, we will be dominating Passing Downs.

Can't wait to see what happens on 3rd and 4+.

I picked Porter, I think he'll have another good year. No one picked Roth, I guess because it's hard to think of him being "feared" but he'll have a good year.

As far as English, I heard he's doing REAL well. Kruger also. Both guys Russ Lande liked for the dolphins.

I haven't heard anything about the big name guys like Cushing.

JT is going to have to prove it on the field.

He has a dream job opportunity in that the got on a defense that doesn't need him every down.

For an aging guy that is gravy train.

I'm hoping they put him on the field at the same time as porter, but have seen some mock depth charts that have him playing the same position as Porter and as a second stringer.

Wait I thought English was drafted by San Diego.

Did I miss something?

I think Cameron Wake just might fool us and become the guy.
Shouldn't he be included in the poll? Or did I miss something?

I forgot about him but I also hear he has a lot to learn before he can overtake any of the top three guys. JP, JT or MR.

I think they are moving Roth to DE and away from OLB. So that may open up more playing time for Wake.

It was reported today that Jason taylor will only get about 20 snaps a game. 25 max. So, I think he will make an impact but I don't expect him on the field much on 1st and 2nd downs.

JT is a situational player at this point in his carreer. That isn't a knock on him, but I don't see him as having as much as an impact as a Crowder, Wilson, or a full-time player

Without pads on, they can't get a feel for Wake yet. But since he's learning a new position, and playing against better competition in a new league, I don't expect that he'll be feared in year one. He's fast in special teams though, from what they've said.

With Wake's leaping ability, I think he'll make his mark blocking a few kicks or punts this year.

Wishful thinking I'm, afraid. The chances that a CFL transplant is going to out perform a guy coming off an 18 sack season and another guy that leads the NFL in sacks since 2003 are pretty slim. Not that I would mind but I won't hold my breath.

I like the looks of wake too. Incredible build and motor, just may be a very pleasant surprise. If the dbs improve early on the defense could be dominant.

I'm not sol on our secondary yet for this year. It will take some good coaching and fast learning to get the secondary playing with chemistry. That said, we havew a lot more raw talent and it will improve.

Hope it comes fast.

I have a few comments:

1. Jason Allen shouldn't even be mentioned on the depth chart. Sean Smith will be the backup CB in his place.
2. Where's Camarillo? He'll be starting over Bess. Ultimately, I see Bess backing up Ginn with Camarillo/Turner on the other side.
3. If Donald Thomas is healthy, no way Frye starts over him
4. Joe Berger will likely be our backup Center, not Al Johnson.
5. Torbor and Kershaw?? We NEED some quality depth at ILB. I see us signing some other guys during training camp to compete at this position.

We have no depth at ILB whatsoever. Thats the phins weakest postition.

Even the starters, ayodele is ok not great, crowder is adecuate but not a superstar, needs to get to the next level. He led the team in tackles though. I want to see crowder dominate which i haven't seen yet.

Crowder missed some tackles on that last game of the season. I understand he was coming off an injury though.

The most accurate depth charts I have found out of all the sites is on cbs.sportsline.com but it is all speculation.

What we know...

JT was lining up at LOLB and on nickle defense in camp as well as behind J-Peazy.

JT was on WQAM. He said himself he isn't a starter anymore at this point in his career. He knows that. He will get his 20-25 snaps a game (probably all passing downs, ie 3rd and long) and he is fine with that.

He is a situational pass rusher and that is all he is these days. He isn't washed up, but he isn't the same player he was in 2007 or earlier years. As long as he understands that (and it seems he does and has no issues with it) and isn't a prima-donna about it......everything will work out great

I voted for Vontae Davis in the hopes that we have a tremendous increase in performance from all defensive positions and Davis just puts up unbelieveable numbers.

He and Smith are the two from this draft that I believe will have the most impact (long term) for the Dolphins.

I think our biggest questions areas this year are on the defensive line and in the line backing area. We do have some good players there but we also have some issues.

I also think Turner will be very good.
