I have had the opportunity to watch football games the entire day...and have to comment about them.
Detroit won. I think this is the first game that I've watched on Thanksgiving that they won in...a hell of a long time. Good for them and Dan Campbell--who I really like and should have been the Dolphins HC...that's another story. The Bears have something of a team but are weak in the coaching department IMO.
The Dallas/Giants game.... Well, the Giants are simply terrible. They make many mistakes and are not coached very well in all facets of the game. They don't have a receiver corps nor do they have a franchise quarterback. They are a mess in most areas from what I've seen of them. Dallas is better than them, has more talent, but they are lacking in consistency. Their high priced QB is out with an injury and their back up is just okay. If they don't make mistakes they should easily beat the hapless Giants.
At 8pm our beloved Dolphins have a chance to prove something on TV against a very potent Packers team. Weather or not! We have to play with energy and confidence for 4 full quarters. We need to get out ahead and make the Packers play catch up, IMO. Sure hope we can pull out a victory.
Dolphins big men are not tough enough on the O or D. Tua being sacked doesn't help the cause. It is going to be a blow out night unless the Packers get tired. McDaniels looks puzzled.
Unfortunately, GB will be resting most of their starters by the 4th quarter. It is obvious that they are playing cold and don't want to be there. All of these meaningless wins against bad teams are not doing any good. Time to burn it down and rebuild.

6 penalties. A lot to fix during half time says McDaniels. 24-3 now. How can you stop the Packers when the players are missing tackles, getting hurt and the offense has done nothing. Tua running for a first down which he didn't make made me cringe. It reminds me of my young grandson carrying dishes from the table to the sink--not sure what will happen. Damn, after watching football all day, this performance so far by the Dolphins tells me they are in the same league as the NY Giants--bottom feeders. My hope for a good competitive game isn't going to happen and the announcers are delighted to tell everyone that Tua doesn't perform below 32 degrees. I am tired of hearing bout the warm weather Dolphins not being able to play with the teams from the north.
Poor tackling on D and an O that is inept in the red zone, I am tired of rooting for a team that plays like this. McD should be a coordinator not a head coach.
10 penalties along with 5 sacks and a muff on the kick off to start the game--not good. Once again, the Dolphins are ridiculed for being a warm weather team that is not tough enough to endure the rigors of a northern climate and teams built for slugging it out. Our big men were pushed around.
Not being able to score near the goal line...poor plays called IMO. Not having a QB that can add a running threat is one less thing for the opposing D to worry about. Our running game is very weak when it comes to defeating goal line defenses.
My last thought: McDaniel continues to be a HC disappointment.
Jason Garrett said it best, the Dolphins ARE NOT a physical team. Grier and McD have totally screwed up building this team as a finesse team. Plenty of speed but unable to grind it out in anything but ideal conditions.
What makes a team physical is the offensive and defensive lines. Outside of Armstead, this offensive line is a collection of milquetoasts. As far as the defensive line, Sieler and Campbell are pretty much on their own. Chris Grier is the only person I can think of who been with a team for more than decade with nothing to show for it but continues to be employed. The reason he laughed when asked about the efficacy of the offensive line isn't that he thought they'd be good, it's because he knew that even if they stunk, he'd still be the guy in charge next year and the next year after that and the next year after that... ad infinitum. Now that's what I call job security.
Considering how bad we played The score should have been much worse.
That first Special Teams fumble in the first few minutes of the game set the tone. GB scored and we were playing catch up. Imagine he didn't fumble our defense is in a different head space. Maybe we convert a field goal or two instead of going on 4th and 4. We put ourselves out early. Poor field position (hidden yds) on every punt or return.
This team is not as bad as advertised. Bad Coaching decisions, bad ST play and we need a stud at center. Fix those 3 things this team is Top ten.
New defensive coach is doing a great job with what he has.
