Arizona is a sub .500 team, Tua should do OK but, we'll never play a sub .500 team in the play-offs.

Season over. Tua was an improvement but, not good enough.

Season was over when Tua first got hurt. Once again the game was not televised in my area so that they could show the Patsies squeak by the Jets. Needless to say I didn’t watch TV today.
I’m curious though about how everyone feels about what potential (for momentum into next year ) was displayed today. We put some points on the board—-that’s nice. Anything else good or encouraging??

Not at all. This is a flawed roster and it starts in the trenches. Grier built this team from the outside in and laughed when reporters questioned the oline.

Tua is the only QB on this roster that can run the O. He HAS to get rid of the ball in 2.5 seconds or risk getting killed.

We only looked decent on O because we played Arizona, traveling across the country on a short week, in a 1pm game. We will get rolled in Buffalo. And when that happens Grier should be forced to find his own way home.

This season is over.

The offence moved the ball well against a poor defense against the pass. Running game was clicking but, when the offence "needed" some points to put the game away, they stalled. As far as momentum going into next season, it's still too early in the season to tell. We'll have to wait to see how the injuries stack up. This was one of those games that was supposed to put the team back on it's feet but fell short. Next two games on the road will be tough.

I wish I could identify anything to get excited about in terms of potential/momentum for next year.

Our premium (or premium potential) talent is either injured or massively underperforming.
- Chubb hurt
- Phillips hurt
- Holland hurt and not really impactful anyway
- Hill & Waddle making almost no impact on games

Related to Hill & Waddle not making an impact, our offensive coaching doesn't seem to be able to figure out how to leverage talent. Unable to find the stats, but Achane clearly the hot hand this game and Wright effective week in & week out...final 3 offensive plays starts with Mostert who finishes the game 9 rushes for 19 yards.

------------
UPDATE (now that NFL site stats are up). Achane and Wright both averaged 9+ yards per carry, combining for 115 yards on 12 carries.
------------

The team doesn't seem energetic or willing to put out max effort.

Some players we (or at least I) thought would be better - think Poyer, Holland & Long - simply aren't playing up to what I thought they would.

If McDaniel isn't the long-term coach, then it's tough to get too excited about Tua even with his injury prone-ness and inability to put the game on his shoulders.

Recent high draft picks - Cam Smith, Chop Robinson, Patrick Paul - not paying early dividends.

Not much of an encouragement if you're aiming to compete for SB's, but Patriots & Jets also seem to suck pretty badly.

I missed the second half of the game and was surprised that our lead faded away into a loss.

A loss to an average team doesn't bode well for the rest of the season. I remain disappointed and not optimistic about future games.

As soon as we got that saftey after yet ANOTHER bad snap......I turned to my son and said.......We will lose by 1-2 points.

Some really bright spots on defense.....particularly Ramsey who can blitz as well as blanket a reciever. My current favorite player. Campbell is living up to the loss of Wilkins. Even with a decent day of rushing yds......this offense is not cutting it. TUA has a quick release and if everyone does thier job hes effective despite the lack of pass protection....but 1 hiccup....and its over rover. McDaniels needs to go. Hes a offensive coordinator at best.

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

Back to the point of the original post - Tua was pretty good Sunday. Not nearly amazing, but had a couple of drops and on the Tyreek pass I thought there was a decent chance for Tyreek to adjust better than he did, so his passing day could have been better if receivers played better.

That said, his general inability to rise to the occasion struck again on his last pass of the game - the screen to Achane. I don't have access to all-22 film but have watched in slo-mo a number of times from the highlights. Tua had pressure coming up the middle that hurried the throw, but he had a chance to get it off cleanly. He threw it well behind Achane. If he had thrown a remotely catchable ball anywhere in front of Achane, he had a ton of blocking ahead of him. He almost certainly gets the 1st down and possibly a lot more.

Even if he plays the rest of his days injury-free, that's my concern with him. When everything is as it should be he throws the pass right where it needs to be before the receiver's even turning. Off script - especially in crunch time - he just rarely rises to the occasion.

See the press conference?

Asked about his saftey he replied" well sometimes "its a little harder then sitting on the couch and eating a bag of chips"

Huh? None of us just got a record amount of $200 million either . I like TUA but his frustration cant be as bad as the fans that pay that salary.

STFU and ball. Only thing I want to hear is " I @#$%& up and will try harder".

GO DOLPHINS!!!!
