Tyreek incident body cams released........
Date: September 10, 2024 06:17AM

I tried to give Tyreek the benifit of doubt......I really he was a better person. Disgraceful, he claimed his mother brought him up better.....he wasnt disrespectful.

$750,000 McClaren going speeding through a busy construction zone and hes bilegerent.

But he scored a TD. MCDANIELS Should bench him a game and a game check. But that will never happen. Who is actually the privileged ?Not the Florida State Trooper doing his job.Hes on administrative leave.

I really thought he was bettrr then that. Same shit. Different day. Im disgusted and hope hes held accountable somehow.

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

The organization should/could do the right thing. Have Tyreek issue a public apology, make a generous donation to a community charity and a police fund for officers affected in the line of duty. Maybe have the team organize a fundraiser, maybe treat the local cops and families to free game tickets. Don't hold your breath.

Having watched the footage a couple times, I think you're right - a sense of 'above the law' entitlement. Not in the sense that he's above having a ticket written, but in the sense of not having to conduct himself properly during a traffic stop.

Sadly, in my 35 years of driving, I've been pulled over several times and received a handful of tickets. Never once has it even occurred to me not to comply with the officer's instructions...nor have their instructions ever seemed unreasonable. I've had interactions where I felt like the LEO was unpleasant in their communication...even to the extent that I would have felt it appropriate to respectfully note it to them. I haven't chosen to do that because my objective is to emerge from the interaction with a warning instead of a citation, if possible...and, if not, just to take the citation and move on with my life. Certainly, I'd never want to give reason for the interaction to result in additional citations, etc. I wish I could say it's just because I'm a good person that I comply...but a good part of it is that I'm selfishly hoping for the best possible outcome for me. Either way, respectful compliance is the course of action.

I have mixed feelings about the incident. In order of how I learned about the different aspects of what happened.

First, I heard he was detained outside the stadium while arriving in his car. My first thought was: ‘ uh-oh this might be related to a domestic situation.’ Meaning, I figured he got into a heated argument with his wife, maybe something physical took place, he storms out, she called the cops, they find him arriving at the stadium and slap the cuffs on. That was a logical assumption to me (granted this was before I knew anything else about what happened). I was also dead wrong about this first inkling. And I'm glad I was wrong, because with his history regarding multiple incidents regarding assaults on others, I’d feared he was involved in yet another one of these incidents.

Then, he played the game, helped us win, and poked fun at the incident with his TD celebration. Ok, he has a sense of humor. Good for him, I thought.

After the game, he overall had positive things to say. He did misrepresent part of the incident (saying he “wasn’t disrespectful”when the bodycam footage later clearly showed him repeatedly rolling the window back up, telling the cops about 25 times in a row not to touch his car window, etc). But he did say at the podium he was committed to positivity, community based resolution that would benefit everyone. Great, I thought. That was before his lawyers got involved, I guess.

Then I saw the bodycam footage. He WAS disrespectful. I personally think the cops could have used some de-escalation techniques before resorting to strong-arm tactics BUT I am not a cop nor do I know squat about law enforcement. Other than to say yes sir, etc. and REALLY be respectful and compliant. I’ve been pulled over a few times in my day. Most times, I disagreed with the police officer. Sometimes I got a warning, sometimes I got a ticket. What I did was not to talk back to the cop but smile, say yes sir (once it was yes ma’am to a lady cop who could’ve kicked my ass) then fight the ticket in traffic court. I have a perfect record in traffic court. Just like the 1972 Dolphins, only I was 3-0 rather than 17-0. One of the reports said the incident ended well with Tyreek and the cop shaking hands. But I didn’t see that part of the footage.

And finally, just last night I saw the discussion with Steven A. Smith, Shannon Sharpe and another dude whose name escapes me but he used to be a leader in the NFLPA. These guys had a GREAT discussion. They had slightly different points of view, but lots of common ground and hashed the whole thing out nicely. If only the rest of our society could hold a discussion like that, the world would be a better place.

I agree with the earlier post that said they should do a community fundraiser, have the players and cops participate side by side and raise some money and goodwill for the community.

Sorry for the diarrhea of the keyboard here but I am hopeful that this won’t end up like some other incidents have I. The past. I am hopeful for a positive outcome. Oh yeah, and a successful season. Go Dolphins!

Steven A. had a great response to that. You should look up the clip if you haven’t seen it.

Actually excellent thoughts above. I had the opposite initial reaction. I belived in Tyreek. His mom is anbawesome lady, always talks about her raising him as a single parent . Hes had spme issues with women......but I really thought he would be respectful to LE.
Yes I get the optics on the officers. They went 0-60 pretty quick......but this is Miami. Those cops deal with 40x more shit then Most other places . Did you see BLM riots in Miami? Thats because Miami PD crushed it in the first 5 minutes. Look up that footage. The Gov. Actually has instructors from Miami teaching other departments on how to deal with riotiers. That training sucked. We had to pack 7-10 officers in a Ford Taurus and pop out. It was all about striking fast and hard. Handcuff.

Refusing to open a window looks disrespectful but it could be life or death to an officer. And he was an old school 27 yr Vet.

And Drew Raushous is demanding his firing? Heres what I demand......Tyreek sit a game or donate a game check to Tunnel for Towers. Make sure Drews percentage goes as well. If not The Miami PBSO ( which that 27 yr vet is on the board)needs to boycott the games. Not a trooper, Deputy or PD.

Id back it 100% in fact my department has already canceled the Miami game 120 of us were going to see. Tyreek needs to make this right. @#$%& Drew Raushaus. He couldn't give a F about the Dolphins, the fans ,or anything but his paycheck. I hope he needs a cop oneday.

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

When I hear people complain about cop I always get reminder of the movies the purge.

Imagine just one day without law and order?

Yes there are also some crooked. But 99.9 percent of the cops are decent people just trying to do their job right.

The last 5 or 6 times I've been pulled over by a cop I complied gave license and registration. For speeding. They said let me check your record. Every single time officer came back and said you have a good record you can go now. Drive safely.

We just got to obey the law and everything will be fine.

Tyreek actions let to the entire incident getting out of hand.

Like I said noone is above the law.

I get it about the window being rolled up, for sure. It was among my first thoughts as well- but my prior post was too lengthy already. Yeah the officer can’t see in the car so he doesn’t know if the driver has a gun, etc. come to think of it he might have also had illegally tinted windows.

I wonder if tyreek pulled the “do you know who I am?” Routine at some point. If he did, the cop should have said “oh why didn’t you say so. Here, we’ll give you a police escort so you arrive on time. But you’re still getting two tickets.”

Still hoping for a low-temperature outcome.

Rgphin. Spot on. JC hoping for a quick outcomr as well. This is what burns me.....Tyreek gets nothing. Zero. McDaniels will make sure he gets whatever he wants . Drew Ruashaus got him a nice extention and made Millions too.

27 yr Vet is on admin leave and is in a full blown IA investigation. Probably go back to work quietly, told to chill out until retirement. Threatened to be fired because a pampered elitiest privileged Athlete wants to drive recklessly 1 blk from the stadium.

The stress from Sunday probably took another few yrs off his life.

This is what happens when your head coach is your buddy.

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

Tyreek is nothing more than a ghetto POS that made it to the NFL. I see it currently in the high schools that play my son's team. Hootin' and Hollerin', disrespectful to the coaches, think they're above the system because they show talent.

I work on the opposite civil service side of TCPF. I see and deal with it daily. Self-righteousness disease is rampant amongst the ghettos where I work.

FK YOU TYREEK.

Lost all respect for that POS.
