Given the market, this seems like a deal that represents some compromise from both sides. Phins don't set a record for APY...Tua gets 4 yrs extension instead of 5, so closer to his next contract.
Certainly it should change the financial trajectory of his family for generations to come. May it also be a critical part of changing our 50-yr SB win drought.
Great stats!-sometimes. Positive winning percentage!- not when it counts, though. So- did we pay this guy on 'potential'?! He certainly hasn't earned a big payday! After four years, he should be paid not on 'potential', but on production! -of course, if they had done that, he'd be playing on the fifth-year option. He's NOT worth what they paid him- but, its not my money. If Ross wants to be a damn fool, that's up to him- it IS his money.
Let me be clear.....Im not knocking TUA.Hes shown me hes much better then I gave him credit for. He can win, And I support him. But I think paying anyone 200 million anything is crazy. If the owners don't do something the sport will be ruined.
My favorite player continues to be Ramsey. He shuts the F up and just does his job.

TUA said that? Show me the money? Did he do the thumb fingers rub when he said it like Johnny? Thats really disappointing.
Again, I hate to keep referencing him, But Tom Brady could handle the media.Just smile and handle it the same way that you stated. Tell you what. TUA better be open to restructuring his contract.
That said.......he looked sharp as he always does at the begining. 5 for 5 61 yds and a perfect bomb TD pass to CraCraft
GO DOLPHINS!!!!

Yeah, you can find the 'show me the money' bit on Youtube.
Not trying to overreact...was just tough to see so many 'Tua calls Flores a terrible person' articles on the news feed and it brought to mind the show me the money stuff a few weeks ago. These things could be viewed as a guy just being refreshingly authentic and transparent, but for someone who has struggled with fan perception I think he'd be better served just letting his play on the field speak for him.
I'm with you - he looked sharp. I know we'll all be really excited when he's 5/5 for 61 & a TD while leading the game-wining drive in a playoff game :-).
Interesting, They asked Flores about TUAs comments:
“Look I’m human,” Flores said Tuesday, later adding that he’s open to reconciling with the Dolphins quarterback. “That hit me in a way that I wouldn’t say was positive. I’ve got to use that and say how can I grow from that? How can I be better?”
Thats refreshing. Someone actually taking accountability for thier actions. In the end though.....TUA got paid. Flores got paid and found a new defense. Dolphins fans are the ones tied over the table with pants down around ankles........
Hey speaking of Tua’s contract I wonder if there is a provision for him playing dangerously. You know, such as leading with his head when he already had a first down and any other QB would have slid.
I wish him a speedy and full recovery. And sliding lessons in the future.

Wow. Excellent point......but Drew Rausenhaus would have removed such a clause. Hes getting paid no matter what Nope......We paid the biggest contract in the NFL .... I think Ross needs a concussion timeout
