Jim Brown has passed on......
Date: May 21, 2023 07:24AM

Maybe pound for pound the best football player of all time? Made the pro bowl every season. Barry Sanders was an incredible runner but Brown was different. He just had an extra gear that most mere humans didn't possess. Incredible human being as well. Always looking to help his fellow man. His yrs after football showed him helping the youth and he was quite involved in many charities and events. Many of today's NFL players could use a bit of Jim Brown in them.

RIP.

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

I think he was definitely the best running back, and I say that as a Larry Csonka worshiper.

Speaking of Csonka, there were some great quotes from him paying tribute to Jim Brown. As a kid in Ohio he grew up being a fan of Jim and the Browns, and also decided to go to Syracuse based on the fact that Jim Brown was an alum.

RIP Jim Brown

Barry Sanders was the best one I ever got to watch live consistently. So, it's hard for me to imagine anyone better than him. But, I've heard many (including Barry's own father, for one) that JB was better. May he rest in peace.

Jim Brown and Gale Sayers were the 2 best rbs I ever saw. Brown was one of the most punishing players in the game. Right up there w/ Nagurski and Bednarik. Definitely the most punishing offensive players I ever saw and number 2 isn't close.

Zonk was the best fullback I ever saw play the game. He really gave Brown some nice accolades, he's class all the way.

I saw Jim Brown live twice when he tore up my formerly beloved Eagles and several other times on TV(not so much football on TV in those days), as well as seeing all the others mentioned. There have been some great backs in this league, but NONE compared to Brown. Barry's moves, Csonka's power, Sayers slipperiness, Payton's determination, he had them all in abundance. I know that a LOT of younger fans think that the players in their own generation are the best, but don't forget the earlier players, they MADE this game what it is.
