Actually, I started rooting for the Heat when they first came into existence because I had no pro basketball team and since I was a Dolphin fan who had no residence connection to Miami, why not also be a Heat fan?

I liked it even more when Shaq came. Although I was a Heat fan, living in Los Angeles, I was mad when the Lakers got rid of Shaq instead of Kobe.

But I just like to yank the chains of a few people on the board occasionally and since the Heat were not in the finals, who cares?

I'm a Heat fan, but I live in Orlando and am surrounded by Magic fans. I never really liked Kobe, although I'm not ashamed to admit he's the best player in the NBA. I didn't like Larry Bird in the 80's either, but I respected him.

Basketball? Not so much, I don't really find it a sport. More of a popularity machine tied in with big money. YOu see the popular players get away with more. So I don't pay attention to it.

Baseball, I can watch it live. TV just bores me. I think its the announcers though. If only they could have full contact baseball, that'd get me going.

Soccer? Not a sport....ever....anywhere.

So my second favorite team would have to be any team playing the Cheates (aka Pats), the Bisonn (bills), and the Jest (Jets). WHen teh play each other, I tend to root for the refs and pray for a tie.

That's true with fouls and traveling in the NBA...the guys who sell the most shoes get all the calls, but the same phenomenon exists in the NFL. Pretty boy Tom Brady's line doesn't get called for holding anywhere near OLs with QBs who don't make GQ magazine.
