Do we really have depth at the OL position?

Comments from the fans, blogs from writers, and coaches......Many say we have depth on the OL.

I say.............

1. Jake Grove..............Our most important free agent IMO this offseason...........The question is, has he stayed healthy the last 2-3 years? Can we count on him a full season? Hopefully we can!!!!!!!!!!!

Comment....We take or took satelle for granted. He wasn't a superstar but he was healthy his entire time here.

2. Justin smiley has been injured the last couple of years including last years broken leg as a member of the phins...............The question is...........Can we count on andy allerman or anybody else to replace him again for an entire season?

Comment....If he is injured again especially early on the year, we are in trouble....

3. Donald thomas, last year a foot or a toe , this year the chest....Questions, is Dthomas becoming just another injured prone player? Can we count on Ikechuku Ndukwe again this year?

Comment....DThomas says he will be ready for the start of training camp....I really hope he is ready!!!!!smiling smiley

OVERALL...IMHO the OL is the position with the most questions going into the season not because of talent but because of depth and
injuries.

PS. Both starting tackles vernon carrey and jake long have stayed healthy so far. I really hope the injury bug does not becomes a domino effect...Cross Your Fingers and knock on wood.

GO PHINS.

EDIT ADD..............Im not trying to be negative. Just been realistic. This should concern any dolphin fan.

DEPTH ON THIS TEAM.........From best to worst.

1.Running backs by a mile.......
2.QB
3.DL
4.LB right on top because of the addition of JT and porters healthy from back problems.
5.S
6.CB
7.WR
8.TE Not on top because we can only count on fasano. And martins history of contussions.
9.FB because we will probably keep 1......But he is great.
10.OL because of past injuries. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Samson Satelle sucks. Grove is an upgrade.

Watch any good team we played last year, we couldn't run up the middle. We needed the gimmick "wildcat" to gain positive yards running the ball

I'd split up OLB and ILB. OLB is fine at #4, but ILB is either right before OL or right after. At this point we have Crowder and Ayodele (neither is spectacular at their current position), and that's pretty much it. Torbor stunk last year at ILB.

Ferguson was healthy last year, paul soliai is a capable backup with the potential to get better, he is been coming along in practice.........yeah i know no pads...................And we signed 6'7 Tony McDaniel who should help although i believe he has a history of injuries. Also Randy Starks maybe can play some DT and DE. I think we have some depth here.

Next year we address the DT position early and often in the draft. Ferguson isnt getting any younger.

DT LB OL IMO.

OLB is where we go in the next draft. With Parcells (assuming he is still here). He loves those speed rushers. Had them in every spot. Porter/Taylor are old. He will want to find that next OLB speed rusher so you can get pressure without blitzing

this is why it was so dumb to pick hartline and nablone, both of whom will not even make the team, instead of some of the OG talent (Robinson) that was on the board at the time. I will never be able to figure out what they were thinking there.
