50 great years have passed since the 72 undefeated season. Special for fans who saw it and special for the tradition of winning that Shula brought to the franchise. Those folks, WERE the glory days.
Well tonight, in front of a huge TV audience, Tua returns. I expect lots of trauma talk and concussion talk from the announcers, I just hope it doesn't make watching the game a bore. Tua may be a bit stale and tentative tonight...we will all be watching. Football fans across the nation will be watching. The Steelers will be really pushing to intimidate Tua so the line REALLY needs to step up their blocking capability. The running game will be helpful to keep Tua upright and not hitting the turf hard. We don't need to see him or anyone get injured on either side of the ball.
Ok...that first drive ended a LOT better than it started... A false start penalty, then a negative yardage play. But then, wow. what a drive for a TD. Keep it up, guys!
when you are in easy FG range on 3rd and 2 and you run the ball for zero yards....you don't go for it on 4th down and get another running play for another zero yards. You put your kicker out there and take the 3 points.

okay, I am going to write it. Our HC is over his head. He looks bewildered. I see him saying to himself, "now what." He is not impressing me one bit--and hasn't watching his pregame interviews.
4th quarter now and he has no offensive answer to score points.
McDaniel outsmarted himself on the 4th down call for sure. And our final 3rd down play on offense was dumb as well. PIT out of timeouts, run the ball and take time off the clock. Or, if throwing you've gotta have a play or two that are sure-fire easy, safe completions. We gifted them 35+ seconds. A better team would have taken advantage of it.
Our 4th consecutive game with a different starting QB, so not totally surprised that after a scripted start, we began to look a bit out of sync.
Hoping we progress in gel-ing on offense.
On D it's brutal what injuries among DBs has done. Just limits us so much. Very glad we were playing a rookie QB.

Its a different game when Howard plays . And complete shutdown when Joes plays with him. NOAH IGBINOGHENE got raped, first down after first down. Finally they took him for granted 1 too many times at the very end.
I agree that the DL isn't getting near the pressure they should, no matter who's playing behind them. But, having our top DBs is designed to give them the extra 1/2 second every play to get to the qb. And, there's less need to have both safeties playing back and not blitzing. Sometimes a blitzing safety is picked up and enables a DL to get there. I think they're significantly impacted by our losses in the secondary and they're underperforming in their own right.
