I hadn't heard that PIT offered a 2nd for Tua. They're the kind of program that generally makes good decisions and are perennially in the mix for playoffs and deep runs therein. Just gives pause - what are they seeing that we might not be.

Tua Tagovailoa Trade from Dolphins to Washington in Talks: NFL Sources
Tua Tagovailoa is the subject of trade talks involving the Washington Football Team, sources tell Washington SI.
Truthfully i had doubts sbout lamar jacksons accuracy but not about deshaun....i wanted either of them back then.jackson almost went in the second..forgot who we got instead of him. Probably a scrub i know...we always manage to get scrubs like dion jordan in the first round...still remember when dion almost sacked brady but hit brady so soft he bound of brady like brady was a stone statue...god he stunk.
If Miami seriously wants to trade for this baggage then they're sending me a message that they don't have the skillset to draft worth a sh!t in 2022, especially for a QB.
Does anyone think this team is even salvageable in 2021? I sure as hell don't! Not with the clowns running this team.
If I were the owner of the Miami Dolphins, I would write this season off and shi!tcan everyone. Either before the season is over or afterward. I'd start at the top with Chris Grier all the way down.
It's almost a guarantee Miami will have a high draft pick, so flush this entire staff of turds down the toilet and let the new guy take charge - Hire good people, draft "their guy" for QB, etc.
Please stop f_ _ king around Stephen Ross. Please stop being a cheap ass by hiring a 4th rookie HC in a row and promoting someone already on the Dolphins staff to GM. This team would be very attractive to quality people if there's a vacancy from the top down. Have the b@lls and do it!

Unfortunately we are not guaranteed anything in the draft. In 22' we own the 49ers 1st rounder. So we could be the worst team in the NFL and not get #1.
As far as Ross goes he may have zero football knowledge .....but may be alot of things, but cheap is not one of them.He just built the ultimate modern indoor training facility for the players at a cost of $100,000,000.
He is not getting the right people in place to pick drafts, coach young players and call plays. The check book is open. Common sense is missing.
Some of this is current gut feel, but I agree...and would say "if we do it before the trade deadline". As things progress with our season and how Tua performs and Watson's legal proceedings, circumstances could change, of course.
As long as Watson is under investigation, trading for him is a waste of draft pick(s).
And let's face it. With Miami luck, if they did trade for him it wouldn't take a week for undeniable proof to come out and the NFL would be forced to kick him out.

Tua is playing well. The fins have a lot of holes to fill, both offense and defense. The "rumors" have it that to get Watson, it would take 3 first rounders, two second rounders, and he would be coming with a sky high salary. How in the hell is Miami supposed to upgrade the team when they traded away 5 picks in the high rounds, for ONE GUY! Do people really think Watson is the savior? He would get clobbered behind our (present) offensive line.
Oh, one more thing to remind everyone of....he is still under investigation, and if it comes down that he is guilty, Miami will not have him as our no. 1 QB and 5 high draft choices will be in Houston.

All relevant points. Miami isnt going to give that much. Thats the hold up. But even 3 #1's is alot.......but what did we get for the last 3 #1s? For a QB of this guys stature for the next 10 yrs or so?

Miami has to know something we don't. Mostly massage therapists looking to jump on the band wagon for a quick pay out. If there was anything to it he would have been charged already. $25,000 x 20 + $500,000 a drop in the bucket to Ross. Ross spends more on underwear and depends.
His salary is the big concern to me. Look at Kansas City now. They are slowly choking on that HUGE salary paid to Mahomes.
"Watson is under contract for four years, with a payout of $136 million. ($34 million per year.) He has a $35 million payout in 2022, which could easily be converted to a signing bonus with a much lower cap number.
As high-end quarterback contracts go, it’s a bargain. With the application of some accounting elbow grease, Miami could make it palatable. Unless they don’t want to.
And that’s fine. That’s their prerogative. But the supposed salary-cap shield is all too often coated in a patina of poop from a bull. If the Dolphins really wanted Watson, the salary cap isnt an issue."
Interesting. I love the game of football but don't even pretend to get how the salary cap works. Apparently it's doable. We paid out simular contracts to other positions....why not?
