Draft chase in the first and the rb from alabama with the 18th pick and we are in the next level on offense.

Yeah you are right all the time. The randy moss point proves it. You must be related to einstein.

Moss dropped to 20 in that draft because of "off the field issues"... he had them throughout his career... which was a great one. So I am not sure we would have picked him anyway. It is easy to go back in drafts and find people who turned out better than the player a team drafted. At the time whomever it was a team took was the player they felt the best about.

The so called, "experts", are wrong a lot of the time. And all of us get it right and wrong too.

I love Chase with the third pick, or trade back for a boat load of picks (I do think Miami and Carolina have a handshake agreement to trade if Carolina can't get Watson). Harris at 18 would be great unless the Notre Dame or Penn State LB is there. Then Williams out of UNC would be a good option in the second round. I would like them to get Kellen Mond Qb Texas A & M if possible in the later rounds

Your draft sounds a bit like mine. I have Chase a #3, Owusu-Koru?? at #18 and Williams with our second second rounder. I too think we should take a QB but would rather have Mills (STAN) over Monds.

They didn't make a shitty pick. Moss was not even there for us to take even if we'd have wanted him. Now Avery in and of himself...was a 3rd down back at best and there were no other RB's at the 29th pick worth taking. In retrospect we should have tried to trade up for Robert Edwards. Maybe he would not have gotten injured if he was playing for us...

The biggest flub that draft was Larry Shannon..."Jimmy Johnson: "sometimes everybody gets carried away, he's a step faster, bigger, and taller than Randy Moss."

We traded down too soon. In the draft you have to stay put and see who fals. But the genious would say otherwise.

The problem with going back 22 yrs to make a point Sam? It doesn't apply to anything in any shape or form to the team today.

Nothing on that Team , applies to todays team except for maybe the address of the stadium.

back in 98' Jimmy Johnson famously stated his biggest issue with trying to rebuild the Dolphins was being handcuffed to do it around Dan Marino. So he was desperate for a running game and a defense. He built the defense but the running game never got there. Avery was his attempt to get Dan Marino a Terrill Davis type back that won Elway 2 Superbowls.

He was trying to Get Dan Marino a ring more then he was just trying to win period.

Sadly we know how that worked out. But trying to turn that pick into anything that has to do with the 21' draft 22 years later is silly even for you.

I'm not trying to be a smart guy, I think Ken has way more knowledge then me on so many aspects of the game. Many here do. But I love to talk about it , discuss it and being wrong helps me be right next time. You seem to take it way to personal. Maybe because you are always wrong? That in and of itself would make me more humble and less defensive. But to each his own I guess.
