Matt Roth changing positions again?

He was working at DE in OTA's. It is way early but it could signal more time at SOLB for JT, Wake or one of the other 6 OLB's on the roster.

I'm sure he would only be a reserve behind Langford.

Man, we have a lot of potential at OLB....for a team that everyone thought needed to draft an OLB.

I could see Roth starting at SOLB on running downs and moving to LDE on passing downs with JT coming in at SOLB.

possible 3rd down front seven....(4 man line)

LE Roth
DT Starks
DT Merling
RE Taylor

WLB Porter (blitzing)
nickle LB Crowder
nickle back Clemons, Culver, Smith, Davis, Green ???

I was hoping he'd move to SILB. Crowder really needs to move back to WILB.

Sporano said he was one of the top two most improved players at this years OTA's. (the other was Ted Ginn)

Roth has dropped 10 lbs to get to 275 and is looking better in coverage.

Just rewatched the Chiefs game and was amazed how much Roth dropped back in pass coverage

They have just a couple of games on demand. The jets phins last game of the season where we beat the crap of them and the bears game i think its the 2002 game where they were undefeated and we beat them for their first loss of the season. Mcmichael and harrington were still with the phins.

They have nothing ON DEMAND now.

Im not a big Roth fan but he does fill a role on this team. Every year the role changes but he seems to adjust to it. I think his physical limitations will catch up to him at some point though as we move forward into becoming a "contending" team
