He threw just two passes and the rest were handoffs.

Average day???????

Just two passes and he had an average day?

These reporters are laughable.

By the way he completed both passes he threw.

They were less than 10 yards.

Did you expect him to open mini camp with a 50 yd. Bomb?

He probably also spent hrs in the classroom learning the offense and just getting used to being in a huddle again. Its called step 1.

I bet there are thousands of plays across the country that are wasted because of poor handoff exchanges. Taking a handoff in football is overlooked by many football coaches. This is a technique that many coaches do not commit enough practice time too. Taking agiving a handoff in football is one of the first techniques taught to new QBs and gets them used to the speed of the game. It has to be done without telegraphic it, it has to be done quick and crisp.

The other thing your not seeing......IT HELPS DEVELOP THE OLINE! Not every thing in practice is about the QB. Those handoffs are teaching cohesion on that Oline. The passing game will develop......but you need to walk before you run.

I used to be very involved in martial arts. I was a black belt since June of 1990. First day in a dojo in 1983.....you do not kick and spare. You learn basic techniques , stance and repeat them over and over. Foundation is the key. Handoffs is just the first bricks in that foundation.

GO MIAMI!!!

Reporters will do anything to get juice out of their stories.

And i agree the handoff is very important as well..

We shouldnt be worried if he is going to be able to play in the nfl.

What we should worry is his mobility and if he can stay healthy the rest of the way

Having a left handed QB creates a unique situation, not just for passing, but of course for handing off the ball as well.

Thats a great point. Handoffs, the RB alot has to be in Sync. Mike Vic was a left handed QB. I think TUA may be the only active left hander in the NFL? As far as defensively I'm not sure it make much of a difference? Except for the side of the body a DE is concentrating on......but Offensively RB's need to be up to par. In practice I bet they even have someone hand the ball off lefty. Left Tackle needs to be up to speed as opposed to right. Good point.

GO MIAMI!!!

The right tackle becomes the blind side.
