Adam Schefter tweeted that there are reports that Miami wants to trade up to #3 to select an offensive tackle. This would make no sense whatsoever. I have to assume it's misdirection to make people think that they're not looking at QB with their first pick. Picks #1 and 2 are pretty much set with Burrow and Young. That leaves 3 and 4 between Miami's #5 pick. Why would Miami trade up when the only team looking to take a tackle before them would be NYG with pick #4. I truly doubt anyone will trade up to #3 to take a tackle. If someone trades up to #3 it'll be to draft one of the QBs. This is a deep draft at tackle. Wirfs, Thomas, Wills, Jones, and Becton are all highly rated. Why would you give up draft capital to get your first choice when there are 4 other players that are arguably as good? It has to be misinformation to convince other teams that Miami isn't drafting a QB early. If it isn't, Grier needs to be canned.

Agreed, Fins72. It's a smokescreen. As you said, there are enough OTs in this draft that a trade up is not logical. Even a trade up for a QB wouldn't make sense. I can see Miami staying at 5 and NOT drafting a QB. They still have two more picks in the first round. I don't think any of the QBs are so great that we would have to move up and lose a lot of draft capital.

Totally agree captkoi. If they want a tackle, stay at #5 take your choice of player after the Giants take whoever they want (likely Wills). Then at 18, if you like someone like Love who may or may not be there, take him then. If he's not available, take a flier on someone like Brohm or Eason or Hurts later in the draft. If they don't work out, next year get your franchise QB.
There about 5 or 6 available top notch OTs and one will fall to 26 or even the second round....there are about 4 rb cant miss and you know one is going to be available in the second round.

That's a smart comment. draft down. Turn 14 picks into 16. Add to next year. Draft smart!
