The higher the draft choice, then the less negative affect a delay can have. In fact, it's a good thing because the more time you have to evaluate your intended pick.
The further down your pick, the more opportunity for other events to affect your intended selection.
I would think it would be helpful. Extended free agency period gives more time to attempt to fill needs with that avenue and then have ample time to draw up draft strategy.

Exactly. I bet this is a good thing in the long run.
And it isn’t open to the public. TV only apparently.
”A league source announced Monday that the draft will take place, as scheduled, on April 23-25, and will be televised, but will go on without public events.” Palm Beach Post

Nope. Still hearing late May at the earliest.
The 2020 NFL Draft has reportedly been delayed from its traditional April date due to the coronavirus outbreak. Pro Football Weekly's Hub Arash reported on Saturday that a source indicated the draft, scheduled for April 23-25 on the Las Vegas Strip, will be postponed until May at the earliest and not be held in Las Vegas.

According to SiriusXM's NFLNetwork Ch.88, Ken is correct. I agree with JC, I like it, too. I think that this is the way the draft should be always. The draftniks, as well as the owners, won't agree with me, but I believe that this is the level of importance that this "event" deserves. Televised, but no crowds- Ch.88 sort of tongue-in-cheek suggested that Roger Goodell could read out the names in front of a fire in his living room in slippers and a sweater, Mr.Rogers style. Great visual.
I love it also. I hope it takes off....but the NFL has too much marketing and commercial $$$$$ to lose keeping it this way. Should be an interesting back to basics draft and Miami should be highlighted. Very cool.
Exactly, treasure. This is only the event it is because it generates millions, if not more, for the league.
I went to the one in Chicago. It was a lot of fun. Draft town was awesome. Unfortunately, it was in the 40s, cold and rainy. We made it back to my brother's place for the actual selections.
