Who threw 17 TD with 21 INT and a 58% completion % his last college season and never completed 60% in any year

Might be right, there is something I like about Allan. I was knocking him about his conference but Marino's PIT teams did not play a challenging schedule either, Penn St was the only team bringing any heat in the old ECAC back then.

His last year I remember them losing to N Dame but Jackie Sherril had lost and Foge Fazio just squandered that season.

Allen reminds me more of Josh Freeman than he does Marino. Completed less than 60% of his passes but had all the physical tools. In today's college game, when a guy completes less than 60 percent of his passes, it's a big reach to take him in the first round. I guess we'll see. My guess is that he ends up in Denver with the 5th pick.

I made that same comparison about Marino a few weeks back and got slammed. Allen played with two true freshman (i believe they were on same side of th line) and one red shirt freshman offensive lineman. That plays a huge difference.

Lamar Jackson does not have a completion percentage of over 60% in his career and won the Heisman with 56%. I have made the case that Mayfield's 70% is in part due to Lincoln Riley's offense, and is a head case. Rosen's concussion history worries me and Darnold can't hold on to the ball.

So which is the easier problem to fix.

I like Allen as well, none of them are flawless. If one is still there at #11 then we have a huge problem. If we trade the pick for more picks and he turns out great, we look stupid, and if we draft him and he is a bust the same issue arises. Oh well, life as a GM.

I rather take a chance on him.....At least we know we tried.

If he turns a bust then let him loose and try again until we hit jackpot.

At least we would know we tried.

Now on the other hand if we dont pick a qb and he turns great.....then we will be drew breezing for the next 15 years.

Lol. No. If we pass get more picks and win a championship with Tannehill it doesn't matter who or what that QB turns out to be.

Next year we get a roof and despite the shade.......a lot more sunshine blown up our asses!!!!

comparing allen's stats to marino's is stupid because the game is completely different now.

All the rules are geared towards the offense. If Marino played by today's rules he'd have 6500 yards and 60 tds.

The only similarity is they have strong arms. That's it.

Josh Allen wasn't recruited by any big school He had to send tapes and they still didn't want him. Marino was recruited by every major program and stayed home to play at Pitt.

You're comparing apples to oranges when you compare different eras.

Go to ESPN and take the QB blind stat quiz, it will show you how stats can be misleading.

TC I do agree with your point we need more good players not just one QB. If we win a championship not won will care what we do.

As far as the QB situation goes, there are certain things I know to be true.

1. Tannehill will start the season.

2. If they don't draft a QB that could play if Tannehill's health doesn't hold up, and Osweiler is forced to finish the season, fans will be clamoring for Cutler to come back. This team won't win one game with Osweiler under center. Bank on it.

Does anyone take into comparison that these are the players from the top QB schools that could be drafted on offense this year.

Josh Allen (Wyoming) - no one

Darnold - RB and WR

Rosen - WR

Mayfield - WR, FB, TE, OT

I did not look into who may be drafted in the next few years.

Seems to me that Mayfield and Darnolds stats should be much better. I do think UCLA has some really good young skill players.

If we blow draft picks to move up for a rookie QB we wont win shit either and we will probably get the rookie hurt worse then Ryan.

Next year we get a roof and despite the shade.......a lot more sunshine blown up our asses!!!!

He it's a sport. I tend to watch the whole game....but I definitely lean towards defense as a favorite.54 is my favorite Dolphin. A great defense will always beat a great offense. Ask Dan Marino.

I don't want to move up for a QB. We have far too many holes to fill to give up draft picks for a QB that may or may not be a future starter. I do, however, want to draft a QB in the 3rd or 4th round. Mike White, Luke Falk, Mason Rudolph, or Kyle Lauletta... one of them. We need to take a QB every year because eventually, we might hit on a special one. Osweiler, on the other hand, is a waste of a roster space.

Im absolutely down with that plan 72'!

Alot of great QB's are found in the mid/rounds. Gase knows what he's doing QB wise.

Chryen, I disagree with your last sentence....Treasure DOES care for the team. I also agree with him (and have said it on many occasions) that unless a sure fire superstar falls to them at 11, the best move is to trade back. Miami has way too many holes to fill to be concerned with just one player. As I have said before, if Miami is able to trade back, they cannot go back further than 15th or 16th.

I have seen some mock drafts where the majority of the blue chippers will be gone by pick 11. In a way, I kinda hope that there is a blue chipper there that another team will trade with us and Miami gets an extra pick or two.

Getting back to your last comment (above), Treasure is looking for more bodies to help this team all around. If we get a couple of extra picks and the Miami brass is able to get the right guys, then that will do a lot more to help the team than drafting one QB in the first round.

Again, unless a Dan Marino miracle falls to Miami, none of those top QBs will be there at 11.

If you want Falk you are going to have to get him in the bottom of the first or early in the second. I'm starting to think he does not get past NE. Brady will need a replacement and Falks skill set for tat offense is very similar.

In that case, I'd say go for a hot shot WR to compliment what we have rather than OL.

Sounds like Rosen, Allen or Mayfield could be there but Bill's have to move up and get a QB so unless they cant swing it they may all be gone

So, jlyell, you are predicting that 3 of them will be gone with the first 10 and the Bills will move up to grab the fourth?
