Is the axing of all these players also a sign of a power struggle between Tannebaum & Gase?

If it is, I'm pulling for Gase. He may or may not be incompetent. The jury on Tannenbaum being a moron came in years ago. Guilty.

I thought benching Maxwell was a huge FU to Tannembaum. Gase supposedly has control of the final 53 so I'm not sure how Thomas made that. I kind of get Turner making it but not Thomas but I don't think that has anything to do with Tannembaum.

I think Gase is saying I cannot win with these players, they gotta go. Grier gives the green light to can them and hopefully the lies that we are just around the corner from competing stop. The hard bitter truth that we are rebuilding a competitive team starts. Maybe Grier and Gase are taking over and Thebum will soon be gone too.

Purge the team lets start fresh and young. Being in the middle of the pack doesnt help. Plus STOP giving draft picks away

Well, I'm sure there are a few practice-squadders out there on other teams rosters that are WAY better than who were just cut here.

Maybe, Tannenbaum does not have the power to run roughshod over Grier's decisions.

Correct we can only speculate but it appears that this year something is different. A decent enough draft, this purge occurring, facing a hard reality in rebuilding.
