JT was told to wait after the draft before the Dolphins move on signing him as a FA. The draft is over and we signed no pass rush specialist. Now what?

I think we make him an offer. Not a low-ball offer but an offer that is nothing special. I think it will have clauses that say he must show up for every OTA. And it will be an offer loaded with incentives.

If he accepts those terms........who knows. If he does he will be a Dolphin. If not, then see ya and don't need ya!

I think the only thing Bill wants to do with JT is to give him a swift kick in the nuts.

I know we have a mini camp this weekend I believe but it is for rookies. I would think that the staff would like to get a better look at Wake before they make a decision on JT.

The article I read said that JT was willing to accept a 2 mil/1 yr deal but the Dolphins were thinking about a 1 mil/1 yr deal....they should meet in the middle with and incentive laden contract.

We didn't draft for it, so I'd lean towards thinking he will be given an offer. If JT plays hard ball, he will likely not get another chance, Miami can live without him.

It makes sense for both sides so I'd lean towards it getting done, with incentive laden deal, and expectation that he shows up for conditioning.

Else I suppose he's off to his hollywood deal, or hooking up with the AFC east competitors.

I remember reading about the FO and how they have certain requirements for each postion and they don't like to deviate from them.

Currently the smallest LB we have is Akin Ayodele at 6'2 240. Leroy Hill is 6'1 238 and would be the only LB under 6'2. I don't see 1 inch and 2 lbs as a big deal but I do know that Seattle used him as a blitzing LB'er last year and he had 7.5 sacks and he was arrested for marijuana possession after passing out at a stop light in January.

He will probably face a one game suspension. I don't know how he didn't get a DUI....who passes out on pot? He was probably cooperative and they let him slide.

I think he would be an instant upgrade over Ayodele.

Hill only had 1 sack last year, so if he blitzed often he didn't do it very well.

I read it wrong...he got 7.5 sacks in his rookie year. Probably when he was at WLB before he switched to SLB.

Especially considering Charlie Anderson and Reggie Torbor would be making more than JT.

JT does not need the money. I've seen his boat in Chub Cay. If he wants to win a Superbowl before retiring he must realize by now that Miami is heading in that direction. With the right attitude, I hope BP gives him a shot.

Would love to see Hill brought in. Maybe he is one of those acorns that GM Ireland was talking about that are laying around. LOL

Torbor ain't worth what we pay him. He's an ok special teams guy, and that's it. He needs to be cut. At least Anderson got some sacks last year!

I think incentives is the key, more than base/guaranteed $. The incentives should be significant, with games played, sacks, etc. The big concern with him is injuries, so if he can stay healthy and produce, he'll reach the incentives milestones. I hope they can work out a deal.

Armondo reported that JT was currently in negotiations with the Dolphins and two other teams.

come on he's comming to us, he loves the team, and wants to retire soon as a dolphin which this team can make a run at it HELLO AGAIN MISTER TAYLER.

"You were right numberone...you were right. The PATS and the 'BOYS had the same thoughts too. numberonedumbanddumber- you are a genius"Wow, another sterling prediction by the poster child for the dangers of illiteracy. So, let me get this straight. Essentially, the Dolphins traded Jason Taylor for Jason Taylor and Pat White and saved 7 million dollars. Now, I am not the greatest talent evaluator, but that sounds like a good deal to me."

Well, the one week votes are scratched ... the deafening silence means the FINS FO must not think there is enough competition to be overly concerned (waiting for the proice to get reasonable)

or

1. Maybe they like what they have? IE wanting the reps to go to the young guys and thinking more to the future than this year.

- I'm not sure the last point is as much a driver as a consideration or excuse to wait a bit.

2. JT puts himself in a no return position (with fans) if he pushes for NE, less so if he fires up the competition via TB option.

3. JT's ticket to play for Miami likely has more to do with whether he offers up to the off season conditioning program than the money issue IMHO.

- I think the conflict mgmt get with JT is having a vet who isn't around when the rest of the team is bought into the conditioning program.

- If JT pushed his willingness in that area up front there would be interest, without it, they may be willing to wait until it is no longer an issue.

I wouldnt mind JT going anywhere.....As long as he doesnt go to the dam pats......From IZZO to welker and that RB who used to be a phin is also with them....

I don't know about you but it would really realy piss me off if JT goes to the pats and has a solid year.

The win win would be bring him in as a situational rusher, at a low cost with incentives.

The core issues remains stilll about conditioning and if he sends the wrong veteranmessage to the rest of the team.

If JT wants it to happen he could likely make it easy on himself and all to step up to the conditioning program and so indicate his intentions. (I however will be surprised if he does.)

Doing so would remove the concern by the FO and thus grease the skids for him to get a bigger check and end a career on a high note.

If not look for him to be addded late or not at all.

I doubt he will be a Dolphin.
