All we ever needed was a little quality pass protection...

I've been saying over and over that all of Philbin's o-line from last season should be replaced. The o-line (as a single unit) has been pathetic no matter who Philbin put in there.
So, against Atlanta they replace Thomas with Tunsil, Pouncey with Steen, and Turner (or ?) with Bushrod and in the very first game Tannehill actually gets some pass protection. I may be wrong, but I believe that Tunsil and Bushrod are playing out of position, and Steen has never played Center. This just proves how bad Philbin's o-line was; the new interior of the o-line is 3 guys completely new at their position and already they're better than Thomas, Pouncey, and Turner (or whichever bum Philbin put at RG).
Turner may or may not be worth keeping as depth, but Thomas needs to be cut and Pouncey needs to be traded for whatever they can get. For next season (or sooner), they should have Tunsil replace the overpaid and oft-injured part-time player Albert at LT. Then, either sign an experienced Center and move Steen to guard, or let Steen work at the Center position and sign a Guard. Thomas and Pouncey should NEVER, EVER be on the field in a Dolphins uniform again!
Great observations gf60! People have no idea how bad a line Tannehill was playing behind for so many yrs. And he still stayed healthy and was productive. He's going to be killer under Gase.

How about his many Strengths? Tannehill will be someone to game plan behind. He can run, throw , and soon be a major threat to every teams defense game planning.

Nah....Tanny looked good! He's finally being utilized to play to the strengths that made him a no. 8 pick. Philbin was just clueless.
Philbin and Sherman are the ONLY reason that Tannehill went at number 8. If not for Sherman having some history with Tannehill it's likely he would not even have been chosen in the first round except maybe by Cleveland as a desperation pick.
Gotta see it in the regular season but I like what I saw in preseason. Im taking that he would not have tried to drop that pass between 2 dbs that got picked off in the last preseason game in a regular season game. Gotta try in preseason.
Polling.....for what? Tannehill is our franchise QB . You guys that were waiting for Dan Marino II.... sorry he was a one of a kind. And still not a substitute for a good well coached TEAM. Tanny has more then what it takes to get us to the promised land if everyone else does their job!
