I cannot believe this guy. he is going to make a 6 win team a contender for the #1 overall pick in 2016.
Giving up draft picks for Byron Maxwell and paying 10.5 mil a year for a scrub CB!!!! He has $16.3M guaranteed money still left on his deal. This guy was worse than anything Miami had last year.
I guess signing a top FA corner for less would have made too much sense. Sean Smith for 8 mil?
I should have known when he decided to promote from within the FO, his goal was to just hire a figurehead so he could continue to play GM.
I am so close to just giving up on this team. What a friggin moron!

Re: Tannenbaum is a complete idiot! trading for a scrub CB?
Giving picks away for a cb when free agents are available. Screw PFF its giving away picks that we need that ticks me off.
Not going after Boone ok Osmele may be out of price range
Resigning Misi
Bringing back Cameron instead of cashing in and moving on.
Its not looking good so far this off season.
Re: Tannenbaum is a complete idiot! trading for a scrub CB?
Maxwell is not a bad cb. I don't want to give away draft picks and I don't want his salary.
"Byron Maxwell, Adam Jones, Bobby McCain" talent wise those are not bad corners except Jones is a thug and as I mention why Im against bringing in Maxwell. I hope it does not turn out this way.
Re: Tannenbaum is a complete idiot! trading for a scrub CB?
This team is sinking fast and I thought it was already under water . It's time to give up on hopes the Dolphins will be good until perhaps the 2019 season. Maybe Ross will keel over by then or be disenchanted by the horrible attendance and sell it to me after I win the power ball...
Re: Tannenbaum is a complete idiot! trading for a scrub CB?
I am cautiously optimistic about this proposed trade, depending on who we would have to give up. Maxwell had a fair year, but made a huge jump in tackles from his earlier career, and Alonso would be in the second year of recovering from a knee injury. If a guy is going to come back from that injury, this would be the year to do it, and if he can, this kid is a player.
The big question now is what are we giving Philly. Maxwell's contract is not to bad so Im calming down. He is not a bad corner Philly finished 5th in pass defense and they did not have the best pass rush. If Kiko has recovered from his ACL this could work.
If we got both for a third Im thrilled but something's telling me were giving up our 2nd and a lower pick.
Interesting Philly appears to be housing cleaning and collect picks, building a new core of players thru the draft. The path I wish we had taken. it will be interesting to see how this plays out.
So Phill will have their 1st rnd our 2nd, 2 3rd rnd picks, 2 5ths and 2 7ths.
I dont think we gave up much.. This seems a lot like Philly just trying to unload Maxwells contract and they threw in Alonzo to help make it happen.......

Correct, Crowder, that Philly is dumping Maxwell for money reasons.
I can't speak on what is going on with Alonso as I haven't heard or read anything about that, but as far as Maxwell, it is reported that Miami would (probably) be giving up a late round draft pick.
I heard swap of first rounders. I certainly hope not. Just more of the same...expecting a player to be something they never were.....healthy and consistent in this case.

Did you hear that from a credible source? If so who?

A starting corner for a late round draft pick is not bad. Gets better if Alonso is healthy. I can see Philly giving him up for a late pick since he does not fit their scheme. One story said Philly was dumb to bring him in and play him totally different from what Seattle did said he should do well in MIA. Welcome aboard!
I saw a lot of Maxwell in Seattle. he is decent but overpaid but Grimes play deteriorated after his wife was arrested so better than what we had. Alonso a throw in
The only way this makes any sense is if it is 6th or 7th round pick or picks (we have two 7ths) AND Maxwell reworks his contract (which he is said to be doing). He made $13.5M last year and with Philly taking on his signing bonus money, it may be doable so that he does not take a huge cut. They will need to move a lot of his base salaries to roster bonus. He has $25M guaranteed with 11.5 remaining.
He needs to be in the 6 mil per year cap range instead of 8.5 this year and 10M in 2017.
Alonso has to pass a physical. If he fails, this whole deal could fall apart.
I expect news today on the physical since FA starts tomorrow at 4pm.
I have wanted Alonso since he was drafted. He injured his ACL in 2014 (non football injury) and had other issues last year so he had it cleaned out. He missed games 3-7 last year (5 games) but came back to play in every remaining game. He had 8 solo tackles and 1 assist in a week 17 win.
One can only hope that he is back to 100% another year removed from the ACL injury. He is a stud when healthy. Probably a top 5 MLB. He is 6'3 240 lbs.

I saw on Twitter that it was a swap of Miami and Philly 1st round picks plus a 4th round pick to the Dolphins. I am not sure how I feel about that. 5 spots can a big deal where Miami is picking. Picking up a 4th is obviously a positive.

When the rumor of this trade first came up it was for a late round pick. Now I am hearing pick(s) undetermined. I believe I also heard in regard to Alonso that it would be contingent on how much he plays. Haven't heard of a swap of first rounders, and if that is the case, Tannebaum needs to shot.
This "could" be a good trade for Miami, again depending on what picks Miami will be giving up. If Maxwell gets back to his play of his Seahawks days and if Alonso can stay healthy, two of Miami's problem areas are solved. If not, Miami is worse off player-wise, along with losing draft pick(s).
We can only hope these two return to form.
Gain Maxwell and lose Grimes, Miami is still in the same boat of needing another starting corner.

Not gonna be 7th rounders only, Sam. Just hope that Miami doesn't give up anything higher than a 6th and a 7th. Miami is doing Philly a favor by taking these contracts off their books.
That's why I don't think it will be higher than a 6th.
