I'm wondering just how talented we are at a couple of key coaching positions, namely WR coaching and special teams. My thoughts follow - Yours?

I looked up our two coaches and while they seem to have decent credentials, I have been less than impressessed with the overall team performance in these two areas.

Bottom line:
Yes we may need more talent at wr, but the receiver corp needs to show us more this year. Pennington is getting the ball there, but I do not see a lot of separation fronm thw wrs.

I'm beginning to wonder if we have the right leadership, and mentoring. Most every other area showed dramatic coaching improvement last year.

Devon Bess looked good for a rookie, Ginn was better, but not spectacular enough to justify a second year 9th pick. Camarillo looked good until he got hurt.

Special teams was weak on both returns and defense in the kicking game

FINALY somone who can rival my ignorance!!!! i agree if it was a coaching then he wr's we got would have done less. and special teams defense wise wasnt bad, but ginn focusing on receiving more than returning, which is another reason i preach pat white.

1. Both Bess and Ginn are newbies, and have improved, but hardly dominant at WR.

Because they have improved does not endorse the wr coaching staff, to me it is mostly necause Pennington is more accurate and we have a better OL than 2 years ago (not saying much).

Fear not you remain unrivaled ... rather porus logic to assume the only reason for some improvement is coaching.

It may be the only thing holding them back.

2. If you think our special teams were not bad, ... let's just say we disagree.

I think it's talent AND time. You can say coaching if you consider who we had under Cam/Saban/Wanny. We're definitely on the road to recovery but don't forget we only won 1 game just 2 seasons ago!! It takes a little while to recover from that.

I agree. That is the best line I've seen on this board.
