Bright side for #Dolphins: Dion Jordan's $5.3 million cap hit in 2015 will be wiped off the books during the year-long suspension

Clarification on Dion Jordan money: Base salary ($585k) & roster bonus ($1.7m) likely deducted from cap hit. Signing bonus ($3m) trickier
apparently everyone philbin included told ross, when he asked who they would take if they had #1 overall pick, that they wanted Dion Jordan. So no one escapes blame here, except MT and Hicky who were not there.

The beatings will continue until morale improves.
Just reviewed the draft picks that year. Was a pretty ugly year. Not that many good players for anybody. Not making a point, just an observation. My pick for best player of all those ahead of him was Keenan Allen. Haven't looked below him to see if there were any players below him that have done more than even him.
Lane Johnson is ballin, Ziggy is doing well, Sheldon Richardson, Star Lotulelei are PB material. Kyle Long is a starting tackle and doing well. Zavier Rhodes, DeAndre Hopkins, Shariff Floyd ballin, Travis Fredrick one of the best centers around...just to name a few. Kiko Alonso, Your boy Kawann Short, LeVeon Bell...You could throw a dart at the draft board and do better than Jordan at this point.

If your point is that it (2013) was a wonderful draft year....NOT... just look at 2012, the year before
The year before 2012..... and just the first round
Andrew Luck
Robert Griffin III†
Trent Richardson
Matt Kalil†
Justin Blackmon
Ryan Tannehill
Luke Kuechly†
Dontari Poe
Michael Floyd
Quinton Coples
Melvin Ingram
Brandon Weeden
Riley Reiff OT
Dont'a Hightower
Andrew Luck: elite
Robert Griffin III† Dud
Trent Richardson Dud
Matt Kalil† Dud last year
Justin Blackmon Bust
Ryan Tannehill Franchise
Luke Kuechly† elite
Dontari Poe elite
Michael Floyd average
Quinton Coples above average
Melvin Ingram average
Brandon Weeden flop
Riley Reiff OT very good
Dont'a Hightower above average
LOL. By your own ratings 3 elites, 2 above average, one very good, two ONLY "average" BUT who JUST happen to be Michael Floyd and Melvin Ingram, one franchise (?), AND one bust, who to you is Justin Blackmon,
and you are calling RGIII, injured on one play, and Trent Richardson absolute duds????
And you say this about this 2012 draft group as compared to the 2013 group you pointed out above?
Don't let your desire to argue overrule your eyesight.
Since trading him would have put a serious amount of dead money on the books, I think this is a great situation for the Dolphins to have fall in their lap. Obbviously it would have been great if he would have blossomed and developed into something useful but that wasn't going to happen and we all knew it after last year.
This is great. We clear up a significant amount of cap room, which can now be used in the free agent market to make a good acqusition in a position of need.
The pinhead strikes again. If only we could have cut ties with Mr. Jordan sooner, or better yet turn back the clock and slash the pinhead/fireland mysgnamic duo as should have been done, before they were able to seriously damage this team with their terrible decisions.
I estimate one more year of suffering before the pinhead is dropped.
And to those who might want to rush to your defense, ........among you Tannehill lovers....pay attention.....Joe would have you judge HIS worth by his numbers....BUT I ASK YOU....how much better would Tannehill be with DECENT BLOCKING and receivers who catch the ball...but the same approach taken by Joe would have you look at his worth in a vacuum without consideration of those points.
That's the problem with stats and stats geeks. Stats don't tell the whole story because stats are based on the play of the whole team and every player's success RELIES on his TEAMMATES doing their job.
Take Drew Brees away from San Diego and put him in New Orleans and look at what happened.
I'm still scratching my head how anyone that's putting a supposed list of good 2012 draft picks could include the names of Trent Richardson, Brandon Weedon and Justin Blackmon........I mean how couldya?
...and don't forget that Keenan Allen (3rd round) is better than anyone taken before him. Why? because Bob wanted to draft him two years ago....therefore, it was his guy, so he must be the absolute best.
Just don't bring up the fact that he was out-produced by DeAndre Hopkins by 427 yards last year!
or that Sheldon Richardson is a Pro Bowler.
or that Kyle Long is a Pro Bowler
or that LeVeon Bell rushed for 1400 yards and had 900 receiving yards...which is 71 more receiving yards than KA...the wide receiver.
or that Tyrann Mathieu (taken 7 spots ahead) went to a PB.
Whatever you do, don't bring up production. It is a useless reflection of performance and does not tell the whole story!
If Im Jordan I would probably want to get away from it all to. This guy as far as I have read had no issues with illegal drugs at Oregon. Joined the phins they told him to 'bulk up'. Which to me translates as get some pills. He did failed a test and most athletes that fail one PED test usually fails another which he did. So now his career is spiraling fast. I wouldn't want to talk to Shelby if he was going too run to the press w/ every liile missed text story.
