We are in a better position to draft BPA this year but that doesn't mean you ignore your biggest weakness. Everyone says they take the BPA but it's simply not true in most cases. If you have Andrew Luck, you don't draft a QB in the first or second round.

Referring to past regimes drafts is meaningless. Why would Hickey draft based on Ireland's failures? That shouldn't scare him off from taking a player he believes is the BPA. Even if that turns out to be an OT or a DT.

Ask Chuck Pagano how he feels about the importance of run defense right now.

Also, there are some pretty good D-linemen in this draft who just may be graded higher than the WR's at pick 14.

So we've been told. A couple hundred times. smiling smiley

I hope you are correct about that. That's the way it *should* be, but evidence to the contrary is in all the other thugs who become millionaires in the NFL despite being involved in rapes, murders, thefts, shootings, you name it.

It is quite possible that a team will make him the face of their franchise. I just don't want it being my team.

Felon?

How is he a felon? Or a wife beater?

He had two arrests for pot as an 18/19 year old. And he was investigated for allegedly pushing a girl down 4 stairs. No charges were filed.

Now I'm not saying you don't do a thorough background check, but your comments don't match the facts.

Pot is a non issue. It's legal in some states now and will be legal on others very soon. The NFL has already relaxed the rules for testing for pot. They'll probably eliminate it all together in the next CBA.

As for the alleged assault... There were no allegations of hitting or beating anyone, let alone charges or a conviction.

You need to get your facts straight.

It's a little early for me to make that call. I need to see how they do in workouts and with a little more analysis.

McKinney is pretty tall for a 4-3 MLB. Not sure about his stack and shed ability.

I need to see how Perryman runs.

At MLB, I want a guy with a QB's work ethic that will out study everybody.

I would look at Jake Ryan from Michigan in the 2nd or 3rd round but also need to see him run. 112 tackles with 14 tackles for a loss, two sacks, two forced fumbles, one interception and three passes broken up in 2014.

Another 2-3 round prospect in the mold of Chris Borland....

Paul Dawson, ILB, TCU, Height: 5-10. Weight: 240, 128 tackles, 18.5 tackles for a loss, five sacks, two forced fumbles, five passes batted and four interceptions

I also like Jordan Tripp from Montana smiling smiley

I think a dominant DT or OL will pay more dividends given our current roster and I am also coming around to DGB if he passes an evaluation.

Denzel measured in at 5'10 1/2" 242 today at Senior Bowl.

So many good defensive players in this draft, so many edge players. It will be tough to decide. I hav no favorite yet and that's unusual. There is no clear need, there are no clear favorites.

Either a playmaker, or McKinney at MLB makes the most sense.
