Winston was the best pro-type qb on the field guy can put the ball on any spot on the field. What's he got upstairs is the question. I think he should go back to FSU and prove he can get thru 1 trouble free year.

Oh, I don't think so. He's had more starts, but that's the only way he's more advanced than RT was. Sherman wasn't a good coach and his offensive scheme was vanilla, but it was a pro style WC offense.

I don't think quick twitch is a vital component of playing QB in the NFL. Processing information quickly and making the right assessment of that information is more important. In that regard, Mariota couldn't be less prepared for the NFL coming from a 1 read offensive system.

Certainly not physically. Gabbert was bigger and had a better arm. But they both played in similar spread offenses that required the QB to make one read and if the pass isn't open, then take off and creat something.

there were at least 2 and I think 3 balls he threw in the first half that should have been picked off where FSU took away his first option, forced him to extend the play to the right, and he threw back across the field. He doesn't have the arm to make that throw.

I have to watch more tape on him but last night, I didn't see a QB completing passes into small windows.

Winston on the other hand, has shown the ability to sit back in the pocket, progress through 3 or 4 reads, and throw the ball into tight spaces. I don't think he's a great pro either. I've always said his game reminds me of Byron Leftwich, who was a journeyman pro QB.

I don't love either of these prospects and I'm really glad we don't have to draft one of them.
