MLB for Phins in Draft; I have to post this

guys, like you all, I am a die hard phin, but I will put it all on this one.....to me the best 2 MLB's in the draft are without a doubt.

James Laurinitis and Jasper Brinkley.

Laurinitis is a tackling machine and dont let one off year fool you, he is the closes to John Offerdahl I have seen. Big strong and makes tackles. Dont get tied up in the USC linebackers b/c on field didnt equate to their workouts. Laurinitis will be there for the phins to select, and I hope we take him. If we trade Ricky, then without a doubt I expect Knowshown Moreno to be the pick.

Jasper Brinkley: Brinkley got hurt and then came back at SC. Jasper is the hardest hitting MLB in the draft. Played his senior season at USC at 275lbs. Dropped 20 pounds for the east west shrine and it showed as well as in the combines. Brinkley before the injury was believed to be a 1st round pick. At this point and after SC's pro day, he will be a STEAL for any team and I will bet the house he wins a starting job. Brinkley has an impeccable work ethic and just gets it done. He will be there till the 3rd Rd, if he goes in the second, It would not shock me.

With that said, I see the phins taking Laurinitis with the 1st pick, unless Ricky is traded in this rumored Boldin trade, then the pick will be Knowshon Moreno. At which time the phins would then take Brinkley in the 3rd Round. Second rd picks to me, Hakeem Nicks and Herman Johnson.

where did you hear about the rumored RW for AB trade?

Moreno and Wells could very well be gone by the time we pick.

No one wants Ricky. They'd want Ronnie. And I'm sure Miami has shopped. I think trifecta's looked at moving up and moving down. They've shown way too much interest in some premium players to not consider moving up. How things pan out at the draft we'll not know until it happens. As far as MLB, I think they are also looking at some players who can convert to MLB.

BTW with Miami's hesitation to say much about Jason Taylor, I think some of that comes from the fact that they want to keep teams off the scent. If we declared we're adding Jason, teams might think we're keying on other players instead of pass rushers. I think they want teams to think we're taking a pass rusher. But I think we're looking at other positions first, to see what they could get - (NT, CB, WR, and yes, maybe ILB.)

If you ask me, I think we should trade Ted Ginn and a lower draft pick for Hakeem Nicks. Guy's a playmaker. Henne to Nicks sounds like a plan to me. winking smiley

Ginn going into his breakout year AND a pick for an UNPROVEN NFL player that grades out to a low first or high 2nd rounder? No friggin way.

I love Ronnie and would HATE to see him go but he did not earn a Pro Bowl last year. He was voted in based on one game that he scored 5 TD's vs NE.

I personally believe he is ready for a record year this season though and will EARN a trip to.... Miami???

I guess we will find out about Ginn this year and we can all stop guessing. I truly don't think he will be utilized properly until Henne gets in there. He should improve this year if we can find a big play receiver with yac ability this year.

I couldn't disagree more about Brown. He has underachieved but I have seen him mow over too many LB'ers and Safeties to think he doesn't have power.

DolphinSam,
I love your thought process. I do agree, Get rid of Ginn Jr. and draft Hakeem Nicks, he is indeed a playmaker. Ginn should have never been drafted at #9, maybe 99.

well we wont trade him or ricky for that matter, why they both catch well, they both have decent speed and power, and even though riky will be 32 he is on the straight and narrow, and he hasnt lost a step he hasnt taken the punishment, and the guy is a yoga freak. top that with alot of working out he will be a solid rb for another 2or 3 years, unlike most of the rb's who dont do yoga, which is great for your joints, and muscles, the guy is a health nutt, so instead of maybe getting a 5th or 6th round for him? you have a solid player, who cost next to nothing, and as for ginn, i believe that pennington will have a stronger arm this year, he has already been working out hard extremely early and he is eager to pove he can do back to back healthy, and i know in my heart, even with the toughest schedual, he is going to have a oustanding year, andeveryone on here worries to much, we had how many rookies, 2nd year players last year, and with a healthy o-line with a beeffed up center, and more time just wait im excited realy excited because im anxious to see london start, and i have this feeling about boldin, why waist a 2nd round when we can get him. period. i believe a lb or cb will be our first pick, then the other and pat white will be our first 3. i believe that we should focus ALOT of defense this year, for as most of our older players reside especialy at NT CB, SAFTY AND LB. period, i also think we need to draft two guards, and another tackle.

I agree, eesti, this year will show us. And either way, we'll be in a good position. Because Ginn will play better and showcase what he can do. So after one more year we'll either keep him or trade him to a team who can utilize him and get good value back. I just wished we would decide now because this draft has some good receivers.

Ronnie Brown is a machine! he is the best player on our offense. No way we trade him. No way.
