He gave up 7 sacks in something like 9 games. His last contract was 2 years 6.2 mil. He would probably not get that much again but still may be pretty expensive for a backup.

We paid Clabo 3.5 mil for one year.

McKinnie will be 36 years old in September. Clabo will be 33 in October.

Veteran minimum is 955k for 10+ years of experience. I don't see him agreeing to that though.

Nate Garner makes 1.8 mil this year.

How many offensive lineman did we keep last year? 8 or 9?

McKinney:
1 yr contract. 2 million. Sign him as back up for both Tackle positions and let him compete in camp. I think he would be a much better person to teach James then Pouncy. We might need the depth in Nov'Dec.......

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

Clabo or McKinnie would probably get a 1yr deal in the 1.5m range.

I believe we carried 9 OL out of camp, but 8 after bullygate blew up

I think we'll carry 9 or 10.

Starters:
Albert, Turner, Pouncey, Smith, James.

Reserves: Thomas, Fox, Brenner, garner, TBD.

Sure! He could teach James where all the best strip clubs are! I'm not sure I'd want either Pouncey or McKinney as a mentor.

Sounds like JJames is more mature than both of them combined.

And that's not important? eye rolling smileydrinking smiley

If the NFL thinks men will stop being men because of J Martins baby momma issues , then they have a lesson coming to them. These are GROWN MEN. Not children. They have been taught by their parents (or not taught in J Martins case)by respected coaches /players in their schools. They will make good or bad decision's on their own. Don't blame Mike Pouncey or Iggy for any of it.

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

There's no need to blame them for others actions. They do enough "stupid" all on their own.

I think you put the linemen at their natural positions from day 1 of otas and keep them there.

if turner is a RG then put him there and give him the entire offseason there. Who cares if it's next to another rookie?

this musical chairs bs on the line is what is killing it. let guys settle in and learn their position.

Just having a veteran guy like McKinny Floating around can play both sides , offering suggestions, there as depth would be a huge Insurance policy for the Team and help the Team in the long run.

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

If we know that....do you think Joe Philbin knows that? winking smiley

He sure couldn't figure out where to put who last year.

They were like the Keystone Cops playing musical chairs!

Thanks for the data on Smith I feel better about him now. I think Thomas will show more this year too. I also like Turner. I remember watching the FCS playoffs and noticing him dominate at LT. Also watched the FCS championship and again he dominated. Hopefully we have the right personal at guard this year.

What you guys do not understand is...

Philbin and the president of the US have a lot in common.

They both inherited a mess.

Philbin a talentless team and obama well you know.

Shula inherited a Dolphin team that had, IN THE PREVIOUS FOUR YEARS, gone, counting back,

3-10-1
5-8-1
4-10
3-11

He then went 10-4 on his way to a perfect season and numerous playoff appearances and SBs.

I know that not everybody can do that! That's not my point.

But by comparison, Philbin inherited a Dolphin team that had, IN THE PREVIOUS FOUR YEARS, gone, counting back,

6-10
7-9
7-9
11-5

Not great records but hardly as bad as what Shula had to deal with.

My point is that inheriting a poor team is not NECESSARILY an excuse.

But it seems that in the minds of Philbin supports, who are always looking to cut him some slack,

it's an excuse that "well, he inherited a mess",

The truth is ...."well, ,,,,not really."

They also have a lot not in common.

Shula had already established himself as a greatfootball mind before he arrived to the phins.

Philbin's mind was overrated prior to his arrival.

Philbin believes in getting rid of the best people qualified for the job. Long, Bush Fasano and keeping the nuts. Yep Jim Turner and Mike Sherman were very qualified for their positions.

Obama gets positive results, on fighting terror, the economy, supporting individuals over corporations.

Philbin will depend on Lazor to save his a**

Unless Obama has just been hired by the Dolphins, let's leave ideological politics discussions to the other message boards.

What's the point? You can't argue with ignorance. You just point it out once in awhile when you're bored. This is the guy who said UFA, Brock Jensen would push Tannehill for a starting spot. eye rolling smiley
