LOL. At 20 yrs old in 1986 with a new Union card and a job in NYC I went out and bought a brand new 1986 Corvette. I paid it off in 1990 and I still own it today. I can't tell you the countless memories I have had in that car driving to the Jersey Shore and elsewhere. However.........Also in march of 86' a little known upstart company called "Microsoft" went public starting at around $2 a share. If I could go back and revisit 86' , easily one of the best years of my life (86' Mets) Spring break in Daytona....I could go on and on, I wouldn't have bought that Corvette.

I still own the Corvette and my sons and I take it to local shows and its been completely restored to like new condition. But that same $26,000 I spent on that car would be worth in excess of 15 Million had I bought Microsoft. Of course how was I supposed to know? Did anybody? Did You? But If I was making Hartlines ca$h no way I'd buy a $300-400,000 car now. Now is the time to invest in your future. That's what I would tell my son if it was Hartline.

Buy a Nice car. You deserve it. But I'd a car that needs $6000 tune ups in the future is just silly and not practical. A Cadillac will run like a deer and keep for 30 yrs like my Vette did. Co$t me very little over the yrs to maintain and insurance is next to nothing now that its a Antique registration.

I heard that Incognito bought a New Ferrari this year as well. He is a 7 yr Veteran and made $4 million last year. But he better start saving towards his future as well.

I drive my old car (bought the new one for the wife) and I hit my 401k as hard as I can every year. For what Hartline paid for that Ferrari would cement my entire retirement for the rest of my life.
Makes you think huh? I hope so. Because the future is coming whether you like it or not. Hartlines and every other NFL player with a 1-6 yr window on a high profitable career.

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

Yep we think now because we are old enough to think. Not when we were young and dumb like these guys. Hell we had a ball at that age too. I bet you did w/ that vette. If I were an agent I would work with some financial org and have all the guys that sign w/ me put away 7-12% in a ten year trust or something. I dunno everyone is ready to take from these guys but few are looking out for their futures.

This used car dealer says he has nothing against a man's occupation per se but mine is, in his opinion, just a little slimy.

Well, I think so, too, but why should you care what we think?

I have about had it with the scam that is the auto industry.

In 2004 I purchased a 5 year old truck with 60k miles. I wanted something newer to pull my boat on trips. With Finance costs, I ended up paying about 18k. To buy a 5 year old comparable pickup today it would cost 30k. It would cost about 65k for a new truck. How's that for inflation?

I traded in a mint Ford Bronco and got $2500. Within 4 years the new truck was only worth about 2,500. My old Bronco actually went up and is worth about 6k.

I currently drive an Acura TL Type S as my every day driver. 0-60 in 6 seconds. Good on gas.

I have come to the conclusion that I would be better off to spend about 15-20k on a badass 1967-1973 muscle car. Dodge Challenger, Camaro, Mach I, etc. Not a numbers matching, high dollar car but something that I can stick a new crate motor in when it blows. It will never lose value and probably just increase...plus I get to drive something fun.

I would go with the same approach on a truck and just go back to a Bronco or an crew cab p/u where I can just swap out a crate motor.

The only issue with that is that I won't be getting anywhere close to the gas mileage. I am just sick of the whole scam as well... as car salesmen.
