I revisited the second Buffalo game last night for the first time since last year. One thing that jumped out at me was the linebacking duo of Dansby and Burnett. These guys were solid against the run, but the Bills' TE Chandler imposed his will on them remorselessly. We were lucky he got hurt enough to be out the rest of the game, or I shudder to think what would have happened. These guys were just too slow to cover the passing game. Dansby was always a couple of steps behind whoever he was covering, and I watched Burnett get the perfect angle and position on C.J. Spiller out of the backfield, only to watch him get completely outrun. Now I know Spllier is fast, but so are many of the backs in this league, and he just embarrassed Burnett. No move, just far superior speed. Neither of our linebackers got close to the passer, except one time that Dansby went unblocked and the Bills were trying to go deep downfield. We probably won't see much tonight, but I am looking forward to seeing some speed out of the linebacking corps.

Rick
