maybe he gets dealt with our 2d round pick for the right to overpay for the mediocre Brandon Albert. Given rumors that we are OK with paying his contract demands but KC wants more than our #2, it is possible.
I could live with trading for Albert and dealing Bess if we take Austin with #12. That would be some prolific offense (on paper anyway)

wow if true, but you and I both know it is hard to believe anything the day before the draft... but also could very well be true for all we know....hard to listen to anything around this time until it actually happens

True. Lots of disinformation out there. This week, even more so.
But some of us been saying Bess would be out of here via trade or after this year once we signed Gibson.
It's not really a new idea.
I know a lot of people love the guy and I'm a fan, but I'd take a 3rd or 4th for him and run to the bank. I hate letting people walk for nothing. I'd rather trade them a year earlier and get a player that we can use for 4 years in the draft.

Its all speculation but mid rounds is 3-5. Who knows?
Lets hope there are multiple teams in on it and a bidding war develops.
I hope you're right, but I think a 3d round pick is just a fantasy.
Maybe he is a throw in to the Albert deal. Maybe Bess and our first 3d for Albert. Makes a bit of sense.

Young WR's take time to develop.
Bess is in his prime and has talent. He's ready to contribute to a playoff team now.
A 3rd isn't crazy, its just unlikely. Its just not going to happen unless there's more than one team looking to get him.
I think a Team in need of a good slot would be crazy not to snatch him up. I bet you the Pats are thinking about it. They are screwed at that position. Make them PAY though. 2nd rounder at least.
I wonder if this Bess to Cleveland talk is us just trying to gauge his trade value in a package deal for us to move up? It wouldn't suprise me to see Odrick and/or Bess dealt this weekend.

Further proof that WE (Ireland and crew) are really suckers who should not be trusted with the sale of the family cow. We'd end up with magic beans.
First we are seriously considering making a deal with KC BEFORE the draft for Albert and NOW we are considering accepting ONLY a 4th rounder for Bess WHILE EVEN SURRENDERING A LATER PICK?
If this was ANY other team, I would be laughing but I wanna cry.
To just get a 4th rd pick for Bess isnt that exciting to me... I would rather keep him as a back up then whoever we might draft with our 4th rd pick... I hope if we are trading him for a certain pick it is because we have a specific player in mind we want around that spot and cant get him without trading for a pick.. Either that or use him to move up to get a better player with another pick.. But it is hard to get excited to trade a guy that had pretty good year for an unknown player... Now if we can pick up a high reward player like Lamar Miller was last year in the th, then I can live with it.. But to do it just to have 12 picks instead of 11, not so much IMO... And I understand his contract is up next year, but to have an extra WR for a year for insurance is worth more to me then a 4th in most scenarios...

Yeah I could live with that.....

Bess is a proven game day player and model team mate. No one taken in the 4th or 5th round is a sure bet for that.
I've said all along I'm totally against cutting players like Bess loose for chump change. Frankly I don't give a crap the kid is in the last year of his contract or whatever cry-baby reason the dweebs want to give to unload him for a worthless (most likely) R4 or R5 pick.
WINNING TEAMS FIND A WAY TO KEEP PLAYERS LIKE BESS ON THEIR ROSTER. You don't always "win" with bigger and faster.
A great coach like Don Shula would NEVER dump a dude like Bess. I'm hoping Philbin won't either.
