I am sure that unless Starks has a good reason for not showing up to these workouts, that Ireland and Philbin will be looking extra hard at DTs in the draft.
However, with both Starks and Soliai being on the last year of their contracts, I am sure DT will be looked at anyway.

Lets keep in mind that Cameron Wake did the same exact thing last year.
Its really not that big of a deal for a guy who is working on a long term deal to sit out a voluntary OTA in April.

Read an article this AM (Herald on line?) discussing that.
Yes, Wake did that last season, but I don't believe he had a contract, where Starks does.
Starks wants a long-term deal, and it is reported that is why he is not showing up to "voluntary" workouts. The guy is making $8.5M for one year. He can't show up with the rest of his teammates at that salary, while his agent works on a long term deal?
It's not the idea that it is voluntary and no big deal that he doesn't show up, but people forget that "team" is the key word. Yeah, I realize we are living in a different world than the way it used to be, but the rest of his teammates are out there, so why shouldn't Starks be there with them?
I don't give a crap that he is lifting, etc., on his own. Do it with the team! Show some leadership (unless he is incapable of that).

Wake was in the last year of his rookie deal paying him $650k.

Both playing on one year deals and working on long term commitments.
