This is a moderated phorum for the CIVILIZED discussion of the Miami Dolphins. In this phorum, there are rules and moderators to make sure you abide by the rules. The moderators for this phorum are JC and Colonel.
Friday night the Dolphins play the Giants in the teams' first exhibition game/scrimmage. Lots of new faces and rookies to consider. Anyone think there's a particular player that will stand out (good or bad)? Gase has a lot of evaluating to do. My first concern, and probably his as well, is what will he see from the offense. The guards are still a big question mark and the passing game...well, we always wonder about that.
I'm thinking SUH will have a chip on his shoulder. A new coordinator not the coaches buddy will make all the difference. And even if he is triple teamed they will find ways to finally exploit that. Mario Williams as well.
Do you have the "NFL Channel," JC? I don't know what your Xfinity guide is but my NFL channel, which I get through DirecTV has it tomorrow morning at 7am California Time. And it's obviously a rebroadcast. It's the NY Giants right? I mean, maybe they are showing me something from Last year. LOL.

I get the NFL channel yes....it said 10AM Monday AM, which is 7AM your time but not the same day.
After watching the first preseason game last night, I didn't really come away with a belief that the team had improved over the play of last year's squad. It's too early to tell. Some decent plays were made, a couple of defensive plays were noteworthy. More will be revealed in the next game.
From what little I saw through sleepy eyes at the beginning of the game I saw the same ole "Swiss cheese" run defense. That concerns me more than even the QB because that gives the other team the most valuable thing in football, ball control.

Grant is out already with sore ribs. He's a talent , but at 5'7" 165 he wont be durable in the NFL.
They better cross their fingers and pray some decent Olinman depth hits the waiver wires...........Thats in in a nutshell. OLINE OLINE OLINE. Except for our 1st round pick its a neglected position again.

Neglected? Pouncey was a 1st round pick. Ja'Wuan James was a 1st round pick. Tunsil...another 1st round pick. Brandon Albert...1st round pick (not ours, but he's being paid a ton)!! In fact, once Tunsil replaced Dallas Thomas (which should happen this week), the only O-Line starter we'll have that wasn't draftedin the 1st round is Billy Turner (OG) who was drafted in the 3rd.
Our O-Line problems are NOT physical talent. The issues are with coaching and, I feel, Pouncey's ability to call correct blocking schemes. Pouncey is an amazing athlete, but I don't think he has the brain to play Center. The year he played OG and Satele played Center was the last year our O-Line actually played well. This falls on coaches as well, btw!
