Tannenbaum didn't follow his own critieria

At the start of the "search," Tannenbaum made a point of saying one of the most important factors in selecting a head coach would be the ability to put together a strong coaching staff. Sounded good especially in light of the fact that last year, Miami had the most inexperienced and, let's say it, worst coaching staff in the league. How is a guy who's never been a Head Coach at any level and who's been a coordinator for all of three years (two of which he watched Manning run the offense) put together a strong staff? I want to believe but how can I? I guess that every blind squirrel occasionally finds an acorn, but absent luck, what talented defensive coordinator is going to want to come to Miami and work for someone who, let's face it, is still wet behind the ears. What I think happened, is that Ross told everyone that he wanted Gase, and Tannenbaum, Grier, and the rest of the yes men pretended like he was their unanimous choice. I hate Ross. I hate Tannenbaum. I know that until they are no longer present to infect this team, it will continue to be diseased and will continue to lose. Sucks.

Interviews always include each coaches list of proposed coordinator's and position coaches. If they did not like Gase's list they would not have hired him, IMO.

5 years in Detroit, 1 in SF, 1 in Chicago and 6 in Denver surely would have connected him to many coaches that he could hire. There are also other coaches that are known by reputation.

I have heard a few names like Matt Burke (Cincy LB coach), Clint Hurtt as DL coach (current OLB coach in Chicago) and of course a hot name since last year is Vance Joseph (also from Cin).

I guess we shall see....

All any of us can hope for at this point is what so many other teams enjoy....dumb luck.

Maybe we actually get lucky with a young coach.

Well, I'd say the Fins are due for some luck.

All of this is following the same distressing pattern, (not necessarily in time order) get rid of Ireland, Philbin, Lazor, Hickey, Coyle, etc. soon Tannebaum?

No complete house-cleaning at one time.

Not happy about any of it believe me, but it has a difference bro. Gase was our first pick this time. In the past Gase would have said " FU" and we would have to run after 3-4 others and settle. So we got our choice of crap!!
