This is a moderated phorum for the CIVILIZED discussion of the Miami Dolphins. In this phorum, there are rules and moderators to make sure you abide by the rules. The moderators for this phorum are JC and Colonel.
1) Put Brady on his ass every pass play.
2) LBrs need to play at another level. NE uses the short routes a lot.
3) Score early and often. We are going to need 24+ points to win.
4) DBs need to keep the top on our defense. Brady is going to throw 40+ times.
The Tom Brady that will be in the Hall of Fame is the Tom Brady that is ALLOWED TO sit back in the pocket and pick out his targets. No other quarterback past or present is as good as he is at it.
The Tom Brady that WAS NOT DRAFTED UNTIL THE SIXTH ROUND OF THE DRAFT is the Tom Brady with pressure constantly in his face and the Tom Brady that is knocked on his butt at least one every quarter.
the key, i believe, is re-routing their wrs at the line. every team is afraid of getting beat deep so they die a slow methodical death.
the pats run wr picks a lot. flatten that guy and get the calls.
being able to pressure brady with our front four.
if we do blitz disguise it or run delayed blitzes. if he sees us crowd the line he'll diagnose it and beat it.
control the ball. keep our nice balance of run and pass. commit to it even if we fall behind early.
I know everyone is saying we only beat the titans and texans but the titans just held the high powered falcons offense to 10 and we had never beaten the texans before. we destroyed 2 teams.
we always play the pats well. if we get out to a big lead again i want to see us keep our foot on the gas and pile it on.
Jones is having a pro bowl year but now he has to take over as leader of the defensive backfield like Ed Reed used to do for the Ravens. Make sure that every db in the room during film study is paying attention. Make sure that they know their assignments and recognize what the offense is doing. The key to the Cheats is Gronk, Edelmann and Amendola running precise routes. Study, study, study.
The key for the defense is to cover the short quick passing game and put pressure on Brady. Seemingly every game Miami has had success against Brady was when Jason Taylor and now Cameron Wake was all over QB. The Patriot offensive line is a mess, so it's possible. Dion Lewis was out against the Jets, the Dolphins wouod be fortunately if he missed the Thursday night game as he is another quick elusive reciever at rb.
win or lose thursday we need to go 2-1 on this 3 game road trip. coming out of that 5-4 with 5 or our last 7 at home and what could possibly be an actual home field advantage would be huge.
Hopefully with Coyle gone, we will be able to actually defend against the Pats slant routes. Too bad Dion Jordon is a crackhead because we could have used him to shut down gronk. Hopefully Jones is up to the task.
Yes I agree with the need to have someone effectively cover Gronk as Dion Jordan did in the past.... On a side not I just saw our TE Jordan Cameron by my office getting breakfast, and he was walking very slowly, like he was in some serious pain.... it didnt seem like a limp, more like a back issues or something, he was walking stiff and moving very slow...

All things are subject to interpretation whichever interpretation prevails at a given time is a function of power and not truth.

Another key is getting the flippin' officials to call their blatant pick routes and holds...AND not make up calls against our DB's to save their heroes bacon. Unless I miss my guess it will be rampant unless we come out and just smack them in the mouth SO HARD right off the bat, even the officials will see the writing on the wall.
Brady is 38, which means, physically, he's playing on borrowed time. It's just a matter of time until he tears his achilles, or some other injury that tends to hit older players. I anticipate that happening sometime this season. Hope it's against us!

Keeping pace is not the way to go w/ the Pats. Gotta break their serve at times and take and keep the lead. As mentioned play 6 db's, put Grimes on Edelman (I would like to see that), jump routes is the way to go.
Actually IMO, it starts with jamming the WR's so the DL can get to Brady. Nobody is getting close to him if we don't do that. I don't care how great of a pass rusher you are, no one is consistently getting to the QB in under 2.5 seconds on a consistent basis. Brady leads the league in % of passes gone in under 2.5 seconds @ 75.6% of the time.
Yesterday listening to the radio it seems like no one locally is giving Miami a chance. To my surprise they (fan and radio hosts) are talking about the perfect season. Even some of the more level head local radio hosts are on to the undefeated season. They seem to think the only obstacles are the games @Jets and @Miami when they are resting players.

Can't keep pace with them if Miami: has stupid penalties, especially at the worst times; drops passes; DBs allow receivers (esp Gronk) to run free; OL doesn't do their job; poor field position for Miami and good field position for NE.
Asking a lot, but to beat a super team like NE, that's what has to be done.
Cap, every game I've seen involving the Patsies, whether against the Dolphins or any other team, the Patsies seem to have the refs in their pocket. Every questionable call goes their way. Something else to look for in the game.
Have the locker room swept for bugs before halftime.
Don't leave any playbooks left laying around unattended.
Bring along an extra set of encrypted communication headgear.
Don't let anybody with video equipment sit in on any practices.
If we can continue to get pressure with 4 we can put.....
Grimes on Edelman
McCain on Amendola
Taylor on LaFell
Thomas on Dion Lewis
Jenkins & Reshad Jones on Gronk
That leaves Misi & Aikens the ability to help double in coverage or blitz.
I think we match up pretty well with them although I wonder about Taylor. I would monitor him and if he struggles AGAIN as he did vs Nate Washington, I would replace him with Bowman or the other McCain.
