Also set an nfl record for most consecutive completions.

Perfect passer rating matches what Geno Smith had against us last season and, the NFL record for most consecutive completions surpasses a record set by Donovan McNabb. That's not exactly elite company but, it was a good game.

He played ok.
Still took too many sacks. His play was part of the second half lull.
He's gotta learn to get rid of the ball to avoid the yardage loss that results from taking the sack.

Crazy that a guy known for sporadic inaccuracy now owns that record.

Also concur that he has to get better at feeling pressure and getting rid of the ball. Wonder, though, if coaches - given the context of where we were in the game/score - told him take a soft sack vs. ANY chance of turning the ball over. As I watched, I felt he could have escaped the pocket and thrown it away easily, but just wondering if he might have been instructed...though not sure there is such a thing as a soft sack.

records and touchdowns don't mean anything if they don't lead to wins in january and february

lets see this kid perform like that against a GOOD team, perform like that in december, perform like that in the playoffs......

then we can have a glimmer of hope that he may actually work out

The team is on an emotional high right now that is obvious. Even against poor teams, those were two pretty dominating performances, atypical for the NFL. Good for us and Good job as a motivator to Dan Campbell. But to be legit we are gonna have to play well, when we aren't 'feeling it', against good competition and when things aren't going 'our way'.

That is when we'll see if this team has real talent and leadership. Playing well when everything is clicking is one thing, rallying your team or making a big play when everything isn't is another...lets see Thursday, and the next few Sundays whether I FINALLY buy another Dolphin QB jersey that doesn't have #13 on it winking smiley

What all this means is our depth stinks....But still 2nd and 3rd teamers against their first string players is too much to overcome.

Why is it that when someone points out an area tanne needs to improve they're automatically labeled a hater?

I notice the "haters" praising him for his good games moreso than the kool aid drinkers making excuses for him when he has a bad outing.

objectivity is your friend.

Joe Montana made a pretty good living throwing 5 yard passes to Jerry Rice and having him run another 60+ yards to score

Agreed, Joe, and welcome back from wherever you were.

I've been saying for a while now that if the Fins can get their OL straightened up to where they are at least playing "decent" then that is when RT can be judged. He did just fine over the last two weeks.

Sure, RT threw some short passes that the receivers turned into big gains, but he also threw some passes downfield, that were right on target. Yeah, too bad about the long one to Parker that was brought back. Of course, I don't think Parker was back on the field after that play, was he? Hopefully, Parker is going to get more playing time. Not gonna beat out the starting three, however (at least not this year).

BTW. All QBs throw short passes that turn into big gains. That's just the way it is.

I also agree that DC substitued a little too early. Start of the 4th would have been fine. However, with all the substitutions, I was kinda surprised he left RT in.

Saying all that, Thurs is going to be the game where we all see exactly what the Fins are made of, win or lose. If they play well and stay in the game (and lose), at least we know they have a lot of fight in them. If they fold under the pressure, then we know they won't go far, this year.

I'm looking for a good game, no matter what.

You are right, KB.

The last two opponents wern't very good team, BUT.....neither was Miami at the time. The Fins BLEW THOSE TEAMS OUT OF THE WATER in a very convincing manner.

Miami has something going for them, now lets hope they can keep it up.

The only person I saw mention "hater" was TCPF and he was obviously referring to "Dolphin" and the like who only appear after a terrible loss or performance. I wouldn't put too many in that category.

Except than when the people that don't like Tannehill say anything positive about him, it's followed by a "but"....

He had a good game BUT he was playing a lousy team. He hit the long pass BUT he took too many sacks....

You pretty much erase your compliment with a slight.

and...because I like Tannehill, I am now a kool-aid drinker like some brain washed, mindless freak?

I often find myself constantly sticking up for Tannehill because WAY TOO MANY are ridiculous in there overreactions.

For instance, I don't have a problem if people say "He needs to not take so many sacks" IF it was entirely his fault. Usually there are cases where he gets sacked 4 times and he was responsible for one or two but it gets turned into a claim where every sack was his fault or every int was his fault. Basically every loss is 100% Tannehill's fault no matter the circumstances.

Or my favorite..."Tannehill is not a legit QB"...all while ignoring the fact that the line gave up 5 sacks and 22 pressures in one game.

>
> objectivity is your friend.

That goes for both sides.

All i wish is for tannehill to throw the ball away and not take the sack.......

It seems he just waits and waits when noone is open.....and refuses to throw it away and instead gets sacked and loses 10 yards or so.

Then its 2nd and 20.....instead of 2nd and 10....

Get out the pocket and throw the ball away.

The key is getting out of the pocket so he's not penalized for grounding. It's tough to do if the pocket is collapsing around you!

It's also tough when he is dropping back and gets hit before he even turns around.
