Maybe one day ross will get it right.

At least he put out the dough out there and pays. I can't believe we are so unlucky that we can't the get the right personel out there and field a decent team.

How many qbs have we had, how many different coaches, how many different players, yet, we keep getting worse and worse.

Why is it that before philbin, nobody wanted to coach this team?

What is the secret of the failures of this team?

Nobody has been able to figure it out yet..

Is ross the main problem?

What is the real problem?

IMO, for 15 years, with little to no success, we have thrown money and draft picks at 'needs' thinking more about the position than the Impact of the player. For the same 15 years we have put (mostly) inexperienced coaches in charge of average to poor players who are mis-matched for their inflexible 'systems'. But whatever started it and however it has gotten so bad, at this point we are a franchise that has no face and no association with success in most peoples recent memory.

When I first became a fan in the early 70's when you thought of the Dolphins you thought of the Super bowls, 17-0, Csonka and Kick, Morris and Matheson. Griese and Shula. Later on it was Moore, the Killer B's and STILL Griese and Shula, Then of course thru the rest of the 80's it was Marino with the Marx Brothers, that Monday night in the Orange bowl vs the Bears. Thru the 90's, McDuffie, Fryar, Jackson and all the the big names from the start of the free agent era and STILL Shula who became the winningest coach of all time. Even after Shula left you had JJ (turned out a disaster in the end but STILL AT THAT TIME a name and a face people associated with the success and the Dolphins), Marino and the records, Taylor, Thomas.

Since 1999 WHO do people think of when you say Miami Dolphins and success as a Franchise? maybe a few fans would name Ronnie and Ricky(with a little chuckle about drug tests and Rastafarian music), but past that WHO? Nick Saban and his cut and run??, Richie Incognito??, Cam Cameron, AJ Feeley, Cleo Lemon, Tony Sporano, Jake Long??, Parcells?? Maybe a couple names people would recognize but certainly not associate with the Miami Dolphins and success. WHAT do they think of??? 1 playoff win in 15 years???, 1-15 season???.

We need coaches with some personality yes, but even more importantly, ones who are intelligent, creative and not stubbornly clinging to a 'system' they've used at some other place and time. We also need IMPACT players that make little kids want to wear their jerseys and I don't give a d@mn if 'we already have a guy there who just needs time to develop'...We need a Sean Peyton and a Drew Brees, A Mike Holmgren and a Brett Farve, A Tony Dungy and a Peyton Manning, A Don Shula and a Dan Marino, or even as I shudder to say it a Belicheck and a Brady.

I fear our owner is not enough of a football guy to see past candidates who interview well or have fallen bass ackwards in to success somewhere else but really don't have the applicable knowledge OR flexibility to be COMPLETELY in charge of a successful NFL team. Until we get some competent talent evaluation, a good football mind at coach and some players who get it done on the field at game time instead of just looking good on a fantasy league stat sheet, the beat will go on and we'll all just suffer together. drinking smiley
