Dolphin injuries and notes. Redskins game.

1. Sims sustained a concussion when falling awkwardly during a pass play in the end zone; he did not return to the game. However, the injury was not as dire as it first appeared. Sims was able to get to his feet and onto a cart that took him to the locker room.

_______________________________________________________

2. Left trackle Branden Albert had an injury scare in his first game back — but it had nothing to do with his reconstructed right knee.

Albert left the game briefly with a head injury but passed the league-mandated cognitive tests and returned to action.

________________________________________________________

3. ? Defensive end Olivier Vernon left with an ankle injury, returned later in the game and then left for good in the second half.

_________________________________________________________

4. ? Safety Reshad Jones wasn’t on the field for the last defensive sequence after tweaking his hamstring. Jones said later: “I’ll be OK.”

_________________________________________________________

Notes: ? Based on his history of shenanigans, Dolphins defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh will never get the benefit of the doubt.

So when he knocked off Redskins running back Alfred Morris’ helmet with his foot after a tackle, it got noticed nationally.

Suh said he did remember the exchange when asked about it by reporters after the game. The league will have to determine whether Suh intended to kick Morris to levy any punishment.

Much ado about nothing. It wasn't even noted or commented on during the telecast, not even by Fouts, who doesn't fail to comment on such things. Just a fishing expedition by those fools at ESPN.

The Miami Dolphins are signing Raheem Mostert (RB/KR, Purdue) to their 53-man roster off the Philadelphia Eagles practice squad today.

Goodbye someone who fumbled a kickoff return yesterday.

hmmmm....

That means he has to be active this week and they just called up Jake Stoneburner to the active squad after cutting LaMike. That means someone else is getting released.

Mostert ran 4.32 in the 40-yard dash...

led the entire NFL this preseason with 351 yards from scrimmage. He caught 14 passes for 194 yards and rushed 39 times for 157 yards.

Chris Gray was just activated last week so...

In the words of Lombardi..."what the hell is going on out here?"

Jacques McClendon re-signed, Sam Brenner and Jonas Gray released.

Raheem Mostert RB/KR signed off Eagles practice squad... Most likely to replace Lamicheal James return duties... Raheem led NFL in yards from scrimmage and total yards this preseason...

So they really did sign Jonas Gray to get intel on the Pats?

He and Brenner were JUST signed? What did Brenner do to get cut so quickly, leave the toilet seat up or something? forget to bus his own table? I guess he got one week's pay at least.

Can't say it much ado about nothing, dolphan. We are talking about Suh, who has a history of things like that. He got away with this one as it "didn't look intentional," but the NFL won't need hard evidence to punish him, again.

He got lucky this time, but won't be so lucky next time.

I can guarantee that the coaches are talking to him (behind the scenes) to make sure he doesn't do those stupid plays.

He has to quit or he is going to hurt the team. The guy has a $114M contract; how about earning it by staying on the field?

I am thinking the release of McClendon, only to sign Brenner and then release him the next week for MCC was a ploy to negate the vested veteran clause. Otherwise his base salary would have been fully guaranteed had he been on the roster in week 1.

RE: IT was absolutely much ado about nothing...Suh did NOT kick him. I looked at the replay numerous times (as I'm sure you all did too) and there was never, ever, even a hint, that Suh kicked him. The coaches won't waste one second talking to him about it because there is nothing to talk about.

We have almost always started strong the layed an egg at the end of the season.

I think the way we played against washington is a game we lose years before.

Maybe we will gel by midseason and finish the year on a high note making the playoffs.

And we will all have some relief next week if washington beats their next opponent 31-10.

dolphan, it is much ado because of who we are talking about. Suh has a history...the league will be looking at everything he does. As I said, he got lucky this time.

This can be compared to the Patriots. They have a lot of much ado because of who they are. They were caught a couple of times, now the league is looking at every little thing they do.

That's just the way it is.

Ryan's passer rating was the highest of his career for a season opener.

It's hard to believe his rating was better than last season opener when we beat the patriots. I'd be tempted to question how those ratings are calculated and obviously ignore the "almost" interceptions that were dropped by the defender. Does anybody have his PFF grades?

He was lucky too. He should had been intercepted at least twice. Easy picks.

Can't complain he's a check down master then also rip him for taking some chances and "almost" having a few pics, no problem with him taking a few chances, shows he's getting more comfortable and willing to go for it

Isn't "almost" throwing an interception like "almost" winning a game?
Yesseree Bob.
A few seasons ago we were all over our defense, especially Shaun Smith, for NOT catching interceptions that could have won the game. For the record, I'm NOT calling for Moore to play.
