I am liking the play making ability I am seeing from LaRon Byrd. I haven't seen a Dolphins receiver lay our for the ball like he did in PS game 1 for a very long time.

I was rooting for Michael Preston mostly because of his size since he has also stood out in camp but Byrd is actually bigger and faster.

LaRon Byrd: 6'4 220, 4.49 40
Michael Preston: 6'5 206, 4.6 40

Who do you guys like as the 6th WR (if we keep 6)????

Top 5

1 DeVante Parker
2 Jarvis Landry
3 Kenny Stills
4 Greg Jennings
5 Rishard Mathews

I like Byrd as #6 providing he can stay healthy the rest of the off season.

Another option may be to try and trade Rishard Mathews for an offensive lineman should a team lose a WR to injury. Then we could keep 5 with Byrd or keep 6 with Byrd and Preston.

One reason for that being Mathews will not be happy when he gets demoted in favor of Stills AND Parker. He has had a great off season and will also be a FA next year.

I like the sound of trading Mathews and keeping both Preston and Byrd. Like they say you cannot coach size which both have. I hear Preston runs good routes and I think that's important for Tanne. Give these guys a year to learn from a veteran like Jennings and we may have something going on here.

Well, Kelvin Benjamin left the joint practice with a non contact knee injury.

Just leave Rishard behind and bring one of their guards home.

Problem solved!

I like Hazel and Byrd to make it if we trade matthews and keep 6.

Well it isn't going to be Mike Preston, he just got waived... A bit surprised he was cut so early.... But I guess I'm haven't heard too much about him since the first week or so of camp...

He sort of disappeared in games. It's looking more and more like we only keep 5 WR's.

Right now it seems as though Matt Hazel has the upper hand for the #6 job with Preston being waived. That was a nice red zone route and TD catch vs. Carolina. I like how he found the open spot in the zone and caught the ball with a LB bearing down on him. He's worth keeping.

He looked good. Problem I see is that those 3 or 4 guys fighting for #6 appear one week and disappear the next week. Hazel has been more consistent through two games though. He leads entire team in receptions and yards. He could be the guy if he keeps it up.

Cobi Hamilton flashed in week 1 as well. The other problem has been QB play by backup QBs...not good so far.

Hazel could be the guy, as there is now talk that "maybe" Matthews could be traded to the Packers due to Nelson's injury.

Dolphins have an abundance of WRs and Philbin still has strong relationships from his time as GB's OC. Jennings would be another logical target as he knows GB's system and is a very familiar face.

Patriots placed WR Brandon Gibson on IR with a knee injury.

So glad we got rid of this scrub.

Lazor on WRs: This is the most consistent I've ever seen Rishard. He's made plays virtually every practice. He's met the challenge we gave
