Smart of Dolphins to do Tannehill deal now. If you let Wilson/Luck/Cam reset the market you get killed on this contract.
This makes sense......but again, I wanna see the numbers

Dolphins are giving QB Ryan Tanehill a six-year, $96 million extension that includes $45 million guaranteed, per league source.
That's not crazy money, good deal for both sides IMO

Yeah that doesn't seem a bad deal at all.. 16 million dollar avg... If he continues to progress as he has the past 3 years, paying Tannehill 16 million a year in 2020 is going to be highway robbery on the teams part...
It was also smart to get this deal done before Luck and Wilson get their new deals...

LOL. 4000 + Yds with the worst Oline in history and you want more confidence? I love getting rid of "butterfingers Wallace/heartline in place of more reliable physical receiver's, but spending only a 4th rounder on the Oline is troubling. I'm afraid the Money is nearly compensation for getting wrecked 3-4 times a game.
96 Million is a great deal. Had the Dolphins not resigned him, The Pats /jets/ or Bills would have grabbed him faster then a cop video blows through social media........
The Only thing keeping Tannehill out of the Top ten QB's in the league is his lack of a playoff appearance. And that's NOT on him.

The defense will be better this year.
And we have a better receiving corps.
The Oline barrying injuries will be better.
Lamar Miller has more experience as a runner.
No more excuses for tannehill and this team not making playoffs in 2015.
Careful Sam. You are are dangerously close to sounding like an optimist.
But I do agree.
Even if we go to week 1 with Turner and Thomas at the guard spot, we are better than the second half of 2014 by virtue of health alone.
Turner will be better. Thomas is better at G than tackle. Pouncey AND James are back at their natural spots and can help the guards if they struggle (and so can Albert).
And there's a good chance one of the MANY new guys bring the competition level up a notch or even win the spot outright (LG).
I think it is funny that Tannehill's agent said to him, " you need to prepare yourself to one day wake up and read about Andrew Luck getting $25 million a year”. As if he is going to wake up one day and regret making far more money than 99% of the people. I would kill to make one years worth of his pay. I really mean that so watch your backs. Research has shown that once a person earns beyond $80,000 per year, their happiness does not increase. Essentially money only buys happiness up to that point. This is because once you have taken care of satisfying the basic needs foundation of Maslow's hierarchy, there is little more you need to be happy. Health, both physical and mental, is really the key to happiness. So, if I am a quarterback, I would truly take significantly less money in order to increase my chances to win. Winning is a hell of a lot more fun than loosing and creates great memories. If that money is spent on an offensive tackle who can protect my health, then I would certainly give up a few million. How do you feel about that?
Well today's market showed that a 25-25 record gets you 96 million American dollars... Andrew's about to own a team I think #Tannehill #Luck
This douche bag...why don't you worry about yourself and not about other teams QB's. To paraphrase Peyton Manning, you're an idiot punter.
If you had half a brain, you would acknowledge that wins are accumulated by teams, not players. This is not a tennis match. Punters/kickers should be seen and not heard.
and NO, .500 record doesn't "earn" you 96 mil. Talent, growth and potential does....You want to brag on your QB, fine. Enjoy life without talent to play around him because you have to pay him so much....Luckily for the Colts, Andrew Luck has to much class to make a stupid statement like that.
