What kind of combination would Suh and Danny Shelton provide?
Shelton is widely compared to Haloti Ngata. He is a wide body at 350lbs with a non stop motor. The Phins want to use athletic/rangy LB's, and combining Suh & Shelton would allow that.
No Center, Guard, or Tackle would ever reach a LB if Shelton and Suh were next to each other. Currently, all we have is small & athletic DT's to play next to Suh.
To be honest, the thought of Shelton BEFORE adding Suh was a no-no for me. But, pairing the two is a completely different story.

Gurley is not even draftable in the 1st round, to me. The rest I agree with.

To each his own.
For me he's the best talent in this draft by a wide enough margin that I have no issues taking him in the middle of the first if my doctors are reasonably comfortable that his recovery prospects. If he's not cleared by my medical staff then I probably don't consider him in the first three rounds.

I hear where you are coming from Truth... Gurley before he got hurt was something special, no doubt about that... I have mixed emotions about drafting him... We have huge needs IMO at CB, and interior offensive line... On the other hand when he had Moreno running like a beast in that opening game, we were a different team.. Can we survive on Taylor or Davis on the other side all year? Scary concept and something neither have done yet.. Or adding Shelton or Brown next to Suh, would just be insane pressure, with OV and Wake on the outside.. Would that pressure better suit the team then spending the pick on a CB, Oline or RB... Would Gurley have more impact then spending a pick improving the Oline for the RB's we have... It is a tough call... I am glad it isn't me having to make that call, if an assortment of these players are available on 14, which is very possible... Should be interesting to see it all play out and see how the cookie crumbles...

He had 1 career 30 rushing attempt game, he had 1 career 200 yard rushing game in his college career.
That's not a bellcow, that's not a team leading RB. If he can't carry the load in a 13 game college season, what gives ANYBODY the reasonable thought he could do it in a 16 game NFL season!?
Ummmmm, really? 3900 yards from scrimmage and 42 touchdowns in 2.5 years.. I mean cmon...

I hear ya Odenn, I have mixed emotions about it.. I would probably rather draft a defensive player.. I just don't think you can minimize Gurley as a player and his accomplishments..

This is one of those times when very specific stats don't tell the whole story. Adrian Peterson played exactly one more college game (in three years) than Gurley. AP broke his collar bone. I don't think Gurley is AP but he's up there.
Marshawn Lynch NEVER had a 200 yard game.
Scouts are looking at his skills and rightly so. He isn't being talked about as a top 10 talent just to generate some hype. He's talented and is actually more of a receiving threat than AP.
Gurley had an ankle injury his sophomore year and then tore the ACL in his junior year. Injuries happen. Everyone will make up their minds about him in about two weeks or so when his final medical test comes out.

That's silly. That's saying Jennings fills our need completely at WR and that by signing him, we have our #1 on the roster. That's a completely false assessment. We could easily sign Jennings and draft someone else besides Gurley. Besides, RB isn't the only other need this team has besides WR. CB anyone?

Joe, the thing is, we don't need to take a receiver at 14; there will still be good ones in the 2nd round. We need to take the BPA at a position of need in the 1st.
But again, I think if Miami can, to trade down, but stay in the top 20.

I agree. I am ok with OT/OG or CB in addition to WR or a trade down to land any of them.
Without a trade down, we don't have the luxury of taking a RB, DT or MLB, IMO.

Lynch has never had a 30 carry game in 8 nfl seasons either.
