Do you guys really care about popularity poll like this?!?
I don't.
I guess it's nice to get some recognition but I just can't get worked up over it.
We are still the same inconsistent team we've been all year. SD is one big positive step in the right direction but we have to play like that most every week if we want to make the playoffs.

But...as Truth says, nothing to get worked up over YET. Of the current 3 game winning streak, SD is the only thing to be proud of. The other two have ONE win between them. We'll see this week if it was an aberration or actual improvement.

Show where I said that? But it's what real Dolphins fans do after more then a decade of crap. With Ryan Tannehill anything is possible.
Beginning of this season if I told you all we would be a top ten team you would have shit yourselves. Anything can happen but HERE WE ARE.

You just responded to a post I sent to the Truth. I suppose since it had a T in it that meant you.
P.S my above post was sarcastic as I do recall someone else claiming I was a multiple poster even though I DID NOT respond to someone elses post. Yet, you just did, not once but twice. LOL
Go read up on sarcastic and ironic so that you can keep up.

Not really.
We already know its a flawed team that is a boarder line playoff team.
Its interior oline is going to struggle with teams with two excellent DT's and that's going to blow up the rest of the offense.
Its in their building. They have the matchup edge to shut down our offense. They are getting the best WR in the league back this week.
Its like going to Buffalo. We should lose.
Losing this game proves nothing if we bounce back against better matchups (like New England).
It is however an opportunity to show that we have taken the next step. Losing it only reinforces that which is already known: that our interior line is suspect and that Tannehill isn't the one in a million QB who isn't affected by pressure in his face.
This game isn't nearly as important as you make it out to be. the Buffalo game in Miami is FAR more important.

NAH. I D rather keep up with Ryan Tannehill and what a great job he's doing. Even time he touches the ball your proven wrong.

Very true. Until we getter better guard play, we will struggle with teams like Detroit and Buffalo. I fully expect to see Suh blasting past Dallas Thomas or Daryn Colledge this week. The question is whether or not the coaches realize this and leave in extra protection in the back field. The good news is that Mike Pouncey is playing well at right guard and making the guys next to him even better.
Nick Fairley is out. CJ Mosley is in. He is good but not as good obviously. We will also get a chance to see Ziggy in action compared to the non-existent Jordan.

I think the only edge is on the interior. DT's vs our middle 3. I think our tackles can handle their outside pass rushers. Especially if we can neutralize them with the read option QB runs.
They are getting

Yes true but it's not like he is unstoppable. He blew out the Giants in game 1 but has been fairly normal after that. Only 1 out of 5 games this year were over 100 yards and he hasn't scored a TD in any game since game 1. It's going to be tough but our pass rush should help. I think we have the edge there.
They should also get Reggie Bush back and that sort of scares me. Revenge game, etc. BUT his best game has been 61 yards and 1 TD.

All true and I agree with your main point BUT we mostly play well against the top teams and Detroit has not been that good on offense. They are the 20th ranked total offense in yardage and only score 20.4 points per game.
They have the 9th ranked passing offense but they are 24th in points overall. They also have the 31st ranked rushing offense. They have really struggled in this area. Even Larry Warford is struggling in the run game. Their center and LG are really playing bad. 4 and 2 sacks allowed each. Our D-line should take advantage.
To top it off they haven't had the toughest schedule...Their two losses came against the Panthers and Bills.
NYG 3-5
Car 3-5
GB 5-3 (were struggling to start season)
Jets 1-8
Bills 5-3
MN 4-5
NO 4-4
ATL 2-6
27-39 record...They have played only two teams with a winning record and are 1-1 in those games.
I think they are over rated and am hopeful that with a good game plan, we can win.
Shut down/double CJ and bring in extra help for the offense in pass protection from a RB or TE or even an extra linemen. Run outside on offense.
On a side note: Daryn Colledge played Detroit last year and did not give up a sack. He played them in 2012 (still in AZ) and allowed no sacks. No matchup in 2011.
In 2010, Suh's breakout rookie year, Colledge gave up 1 sack in two games.
both or your arguements are the fact that we lose this game.
What is we win? That proves the Dolphins are pretty dang good.
Joe does bring up some valied points on level of competition the Lions have played.
The point I'm making is that IF the Dolphins handle the DT's in this game (perhaps the best in the NFL) then what is there out there to stop the Dolphins the rest of the year.
To me the Bills and Lions are pretty much equal defensively

I agree about our tackles handling their edge rushers but if the dt's spend the day in our backfield we are screwed offensively. It would shut down our running game and make RT very uncomfortable.
I'd like to see us come out with the same approach we used vs buffalo in the second half. Quick passes, wr screens, and read option.
If we don't put ourselves in a hole at the start we can win this game.
If we win 14-12 with two kick returns for tds and less than 200 years of offense would that make us "pretty dang good" or just fortunate?
In that extreme case we would be fortunate, BUT I would be thrilled with the win because that would mean our Defense dominated.
So you are saying if we go in and throw for 400 yards and score 30 points but lose, then the game proved nothing ?
You can twist and turn all you want TRuth, but the fact is HOW the Dolphins perform in this game will go along way in telling us if they have turned the corner or not.

The point is, dolphin, that there are so many possible circumstances that could underpin a win or a loss that it's pointless to say this game will tell you all you need to know about this team.
