The Jets have the Amazing Mets in Common

The Amazing Jets--reminds me of the Amazing Mets of 1962. Rex Ryan has two QBs one needing time to learn and the other, rusty and only a patch on a sinking franchise. I'm not shedding any tears for the Jets fans.

Today, TV coverage showed SD manhandle the Amazing Jets. It was embarrassing even for a Dolphins fan. They now stand 1-4. Unless they have a fairy godmother somewhere to help them out, this team will never amount to anything. That's good for us. We play them twice and I just hope that the Dolphins can take advantage of their ineptitude and beat them.

Hey the Mets were a new Team back then.....Please don't include them in the same sentence as the Jets. Remember the 69 Mets and Jets as well.........

There now you made me defend the Jets! You SOB........grinning smileyspinning smiley sticking its tongue out

He sucks as a head coach, but he and bellichik are the two best defensive coordinators in the last 25 years.

We'd be damn lucky to have him.

It's funny how the lack of a good QB can make you look incompetent as a HC.

True.

But I think he's a bad hc for the same reasons his dad was. Primarily because he ignores one side of the ball.

Rex will probably be one of the top available HC candidates if/when he gets fired by the Jets

On a side note, Jay Glazer is reporting that Harbaugh is out in San Fran at the end of the year no matter what the team does in the playoffs.......gas up the jet Ross

"Amazing Mets" does NOT refer to the lowly 1962 Mets.

It refers to the World Champion 1969 Mets. They went from lowly to dominant in amazing fashion: if you blinked your eyes, you probably would've missed it.

Then again, when your "fifth starter" is NOLAN RYAN, your pitching staff CAN and WILL eat the Big Red Maching and Baltimore for lunch.

Guys I'll have to disagree with you on the name business. My reference was to the Casey Stengel led franchise team of 1962 that I saw play in the Polo Grounds with my buddies. Casey Stengel coined the term Amazing Mets and it was long before the 1969 WS win. They went from worst (and I mean worst) to best in 8 seasons. The Jets also won the SB with Namath that year.

My reference is to the '62 inaugural season when they lost 120 games. I saw many of those loses in person and on local NY TV.

I was comparing the hapless '62 Mts with the hapless 2014 Jets. A fair comparison.

I wasn't born until 66' thank god and never saw /met/heard /smelled/discussed the 62 team. I started watching them in 71. We had only 1 TV set back then in the house. a 19"color with rabbit ears and we watched the Mets all the time. Tom Seaver was my favorite back then along with rusty Staub a few yrs later.

Still don't like my Mets discussed /compared to the lowly Jets in any fashion. When the Jets moved from Shea stadium in 83' to New jersey I couldn't have been happier. F them.

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

Treasure, in the Summer of 1969, when Woodstock occurred I was working as a Summer Intern at the Democratic National Committee Headquarters for the McGovern Commission on Party Reform and Delegate selection. The building we were located was called The Watergate.

Three years later, it was to suffer a burglary.
